Shots fired over here last night

Right outside my place

Thankfully, that’s a sound I’ve never heard. :fearful:

I used to hear them all the time in Southern California, though they were usually not at my apartment complex. When I moved to rural Oregon, I’d have panic attacks because people were ALWAYS shooting. Those shots were at rodents and whatnot in the hay fields, though, and I’ve calmed down over it but it remained a terrible feeling for a long time. I hope you’re able to relax and that there are no more. I hate that feeling.

We had a drive-by shooting last year almost right in front of my house. Two people driving a van were shot by someone walking down the street. I was laying on my bed reading and I heard a bunch of “pops” like someone was lighting a bunch of firecrackers. Than I heard a loud crash. i went outside and someone told me one guy was dead. They took the other guy to the hospital but he later died too.

I live on a weird street. We have families walking down the street pushing a baby in a stroller or walking their dogs and then a minute later we have homeless people losing control and screaming and destroying property. We have drunk college kids outside partying and yelling at all hours of the night and then you see two high school age girls strolling down the street to get a coke at the 7-1 next to my house. Weird.

When I lived in ontario, our my neighbor used to shoot off his shotgun, randomly (we lived in the country). When his dog died, he was super depressed, got drunk and shot SOS signals all night.
When I lived in Saskatchewan, my sister would go shoot at trees, cans and fruit when she was mad at her fiance or frustrated. I’m pretty used to guns now, I probably wouldn’t think much if I heard one. It’s the planes and helicopters that scare me…

I couldn’t live there. I live next to park though. hear kids screaming.

My best friend’s house also got hit by a drive by one time. I’m glad that I’ve never had a drive by on my house!

When I was in grade 6 I went on my first camping trip, I woke up at about 2 am to here gun shots, out in the bush I never thought much of it, In the morning Police were there a bride was shot and killed. The police came to my school later to interview me, they never did catch the killer. Not sure why she was out there on her wedding night, was a gravel pit close by, maybe for a late night dip.

It’s quiet enough where I live. I used to not think so because I used to hallucinate all manner of sounds and voices outside my house. Now it is mostly quiet. Still hallucinate but nowhere near as much.

I shot holes in my ceiling with a crossbow. Thought something was running around in the vents

I used to hallicinate the sounds of rapid fire machine guns and the sounds of fighting like that I couldn’t discern if it was really going on or not in a place that I’ve never encountered the sounds of warfare before like full blown d day kinds of sounds in a place that I’ve never seen it

I’ve heard firecracker-like noises. never knew if they were gunshots or not.

I don’t read news.

Time to move to a different neighborhood. If you can’t do that, demand more police protection.
