Wish to reduce haloperidol decanoate 150mg. Unsure what to ask my dr and withdrawals

I Wish to reduce haloperidol decanoate 150mg. Unsure what to ask my dr and withdrawals.
I have a few other meds but I know to reduce them I’d be in a mess. Does anyone please have any experiences of reducing their monthly injection successfully with as least withdrawals or relapse as possible? Or it it on whole a bad idea? I’ve been kind of stable for over a year now and have been having the injection for around four years maybe more.
Thank you in advance.

I’ve experience in lowering the conventional antipsychotics Clopixol. Over a period of 8 years I’ve gotten lowered of a dose of 300 mg depot weekly to 500 mg depo every 3 week. The first advice is to go slowly and that means that it will be realistic to lower with 50 mg Haldol depo each year: so that will take you 3’yesrs to lower if you don’t want the psychosis to backfire and second advice is to alway keep some pills as an emergency.

Thank you @columbus it never crossed my mind to have some pills on hand while reducing the depot. Yeah I agree it looks like years rather than months to avoid any withdrawals and/or psychosis. My doc is a couple of hours away by car and is getting ready to retire. He has helped me greatly but your tip on having pils to hand is exactly what I was hoping for and very little reduction over time. I’m not looking at stopping completely but reducing the amount of powerful meds I’m taking, thank you.

That’s a wise decision and I hope everything will turn out well for you.
