Will this med induced anxiety ever go away?

I notice I’m having increased anxiety ever since raising my risperidone dose to 4mg from 3mg.
It’s been about a week or so on this new dose.

It’s very uncomfortable and the anxiety doesn’t subsides, it’s always present.

I am going to wait a few more days and if it doesn’t go away, I’m going to contact my psychiatrist.

It seems like it’s getting worse.

Hugs. They say it takes your body 8 weeks to get used to a new med, but for dose adjustments I think it’s only a couple weeks. Might be worth calling your doctor sooner, just to see what they say.

Thanks @1923mari but I’m afraid to try new supplements.

@Wave ,did you ask for klonopin?

I came off Klonopin because I grew tolerant to them.
I’m not going back on benzos zoa.
They don’t work for me.

anxiety is just a mind game…ignore the fear of anxiety and it will go away…you really have to be not afraid of it anymore and it will go away.

No this is more of a physical tension type of anxiety.
@anon94176359 could be right, it could be akathisia.
Or something similar.

Do you have Akineton. It’s anti parkinson drug, but relaxes muscles.I take it.

No I don’t have any @anon70049667

my risperidone makes me restless same thing. it does took me a long time to get adapted to. @Ninjastar

Hi @Wave! Have you ever tried meditation? It really helps me.

@Wave

I’m on quite a few anxiety meds, and I’m on risperidone. They finally found an AP that works, so I hate that feeling, but I sometimes have it. Try cutting caffeine and cigs, if you smoke.

I hope you get answers, and relief, too!

If it is akathisia i can definitely relate. The higher dose of Latuda that i was on gave me akathisia. I still have it a little on the lowered dosage but it’s more manageable. I take propanolol for it but i’m not entirely sure it does anything, to be honest. Talking to your pdoc is the way to go. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

I had this on that drug. I had to come off it in the end. Don’t be afraid to switch if you need too. Sometimes it can work for the better. It can be hard though to find a good med.

As others have said, it may pass soon.

Best of luck
