I think the Wikipedia Psychosis entry got edited.
So I guess crazy changes too huh???
No, I think it reflects both anti psychiatry and pro meds, if i’m reading it right.
That makes me a bit wary myself. I don’t want to be numb on meds really, maybe talking would help. I must really get a grip on myself before I go into permanent psychosis.
Yeah for treatment, it just lists antipsychotics. No talk therapy or cbt.
I’m just hoping that people start to believe that eventually change begins with us not our medicine sometimes. Psychosis is suffering though, sometimes I just dunno what’s real anymore.
I went to see a therapist for talk therapy - I was psychotic at the time. Therapy was useless - Medications are still the number one treatment against psychosis. But I do think that Wikipedia should have included talk therapy/CBT as a treatment option
There is a brief ,positive mention of CBT under ‘prevention’ but nothing that gives a fuller picture showing that CBT has had inconsistent results in treating psychosis. Some trials have shown no effect or even in a few cases a negative effect and some trials a small positive effect.
