Why in the world would an organization call itself MENSA? 🙅 I know in Latin it means table, but did they not take the Spanish version into account? Mensa means, in the feminine, STUPID. Not to be confused with the word Mesa which means table in Spanish. I mean honestly, if they want some of us to join they would change the name. Why not the Greek word for table…trapezi?
MENSA also says “MEN” and its pictoral symbol looks like a masculine type of image.
Welcome back @Stigmiss. I just hate telling my family I’m joining Mensa while they laugh their a$$ off. 🤦 Oy!
I think it should be called Mekon
Not sure what the purpose of MENSA is.
While I think it would be pretty cool to join MENSA, I have to say that I imagine that many of its members are highly annoying.
Have you ever watched the Big Bang Theory? My family thinks I’m a less smart version of Sheldon Cooper… lol
It’s an organization for those with high IQ’s to join, and gab about STEM interests or stroke their intellectual egos. Nerds, basically.
So you’ve testes you’re iq with a psycholog and got over 131?
That’s incredible,
your lucky you still have your logic, mine stopped after a while. I used to be able to do higher level math and follow the instructors logic, now my concentration is too bad to retain it. Good thing I have a boyfriend with a high IQ, or my brains would turn into mush.
I have a 140 IQ. I’ve been tested. Although! I believe my score may have dwindled after becoming ill with psychosis.
I got 180 on the alternative IQ. Idiot quotient that is .
I am embarrassed by my EQ. I have limited maturity in this department.
My EQ isn’t that good either.
@Cici2 @firemonkey When I was 16 and in a psych ward they said I was emotionally 5 years old. I thought that was really sad.
I’m sorry @LilyoftheValley I tell my family that IQ tests are to be taken with a grain of salt. I mean I scored high on the IQ, but have the emotional capacity of a binobo.
@Cici2. Maybe MENSA is an acronym?
Edit: nope. I looked it up. It’s not an acronym.
Eh, maybe you’re just being humble.
Serious question: why do so many people seem to know their IQs?
I’m guessing I might have been tested as a child, but it’s not like anyone told me or I thought to ask as a 6-year old.
Is everyone shelling out cash to go get tested by a psychologist or whomever administers these tests?
Me too. My IQ was really high back then. But now I really struggle to do complex thinking.
