i think the bottom line is that most of us need to be on the pill, but when it comes down to whether many of us absolutely need to be on it for life, is an unknown answer. like her, if she’s been in remission for eleven years like she said, then it might be possible for her to no longer need it. it’d be objectively risky but i think the real answer is no one knows.

There are not any problem with taking antipsychotics. But to meet regularly with psychiatrist in every two months is the real headache.

If it ain’t broke…

I’m temporarily back on one. We’ll see how things shake out once the other ailments have settled down.

I hate the sleepiness, hunger, and constipation that clozapine gives me, not to mention the tachycardia, but since I’ve been on it I haven’t “existed” in the hospital…no more spending half the year inpatient. So, yeah, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I’m probably on antipsychotics for life. I tried reducing and it didnt work out in the long run. Made it over a year and then had issues when things came up in life that triggered me.
