With the injections I only need to get one injection per month. It hurts a little but it’s worth it. With pills I had to try to remember to take them every day. I would also start to feel better and stop taking my pills. One time I threw all my meds away and my dad had to help me get more meds.
I’ve always been open to the idea of injections, sometimes it seems it would be convenient.
It is really convenient.
They’re very convenient, but also very expensive.
expensive, i get my for 4 euro ?
I prefer injections too,
but i only have one ap in injection form,
the other two aps are oral
I agree. I dont even feel different on mine anymore. But i have it - in case my “normal” goes up the creek.
I had a row with the team the other day funnily enough - cos they give me the needle, and then expect me to get on with it for 4 weeks, like its a cure all. Nevermind i go bonkers sometimes cos i dont see no bugger for days, and the endless tv does my nut in lol.
I almost miss my voices - cos at least i was having a conversation with “someone” lol.
Mine are not even abusive, they were angels lol. I was happily deluded hahaha
I started off on invega injections but have switched to abilify pills. I prefer to have control over my meds so I prefer pills.
They cost around $2000/ month where I live
Yeah, invega injections were over $2500 for a month I think.
oh my thats too expensive
I take injection for over 10 years. It’s more convenient as you said.
I’m considering going on the Abilify injection. I’m just worried about how expensive it might be
I’m the total opposite. I refused injections when they were offered to me. I can’t be bother taking the time to go to the hospital or doctors office, wait 30 minutes or even longer until a nurse can see me, and then get my injection. Plus I have heard numerous people on this website complain their injection wears off a few days before their next scheduled one and they feel like crap or have symptoms.
I have environmental allergies (pollen) and I use to have to get allergy shots when I was younger, they helped reduce my allergies, but I hated going all the time.
I have to take cholesterol and diabetes pills that don’t come in injection format so I have to take pills even if I got my psych meds through injections, the injections would just add more work to the process. so I take psych med pills along with my other pills.
Very occasionally I forget, but I’ve never had a problem. I’ve never done anything like throw them out or flush them down the toilet. I don’t like the fact that I have to take medication but they keep me healthy and stable so I take them willingly.
A nurse comes to my house to give me my injection.
That’s pretty cool, I never had an offer like that.
Yeah mine does. I lack the insight to always notice sometimes - but the mental health team remind me, when i start getting the arse with them lol.
I got the seraquol im supposed to take 25mg twice a day for that reason - but i would never get out of bed, so i only usually take the 300mg at night.
for me my gp doc comes to give it to me.
I’m really glad that you like the injection, and that it’s working for you.
I was on Invega Sustenna (monthly injection) for a little over 1 year. It was great at first. But I started having very severe pain and limited movement of the arm that received the injection, for weeks. I had to stop Invega Sustenna and switch to something else.
The severe pain might have been because of my fibromyalgia (chronic pain disorder). I don’t know, though.
I hope you can stay on the injection for however long you want to! Injections are convenient.
That’s service!
For me everything is done at a doctors office or hospital. I’ve never had anyone offer to come to my house to do anything.
