How can I get off my injection and just take the pills?

I cant just stop going for treatment because I still need other medicine, but I don’t want to be on the injection anymore. I think I can take my meds as prescribed, depending on the dosage. how can I persuade my treatment team? This is absolutely ridiculous being up at 4am and having the meds hinder my concentration, and ability to sleep!

You have to be compliant, that’s about it.

I’m on Invega sustenna, I don’t like adjusting to it every month, then by the time I do its time for another one or I suddenly get symptoms. Its a never ending cycke

Maybe express that, the next time you talk to the doc’s.

ok, I hope my insurance covers Invega pills

Invega sustena is alot more than pills.

It’s actually a really expensive med.

The pills are much cheaper I think

I just looked up the prices and Invega pills just for one dosage costs over $1,000!!

Not true, they are expensive-I pay 155 a month, but it’s not 1000 per dose.

I prefer Invega pills over the injection. If you have more questions you can ask me.

Call me mis-informed but ive been always under the impression you get less side-affects with an injection rather than pills? TBH i dont really understand why you wanna switch back? One jab - and you can forget about it!?

Yes the reminder taking pills for sz every morning spinned me out. The injection is much better, more freedom when you don’t plan a 3 months hiking trip in wuppwupp.

I guess your right @Naarai, the chances of me being compliant on invega pills are slim. I’ll have one bad day and go off it, then I’ll lose insight like I always do. I have to think logically about this situation and not trust myself when it comes to meds. I find it hard enough taking the 4 other meds a night. Sometimes I don’t even know what I’m taking and I just count to make sure there are 6 pills in my hand

The i njection is better if you get it every 3 weeks. Thwre is no breakthrough symptoms then. I just can’t make it to pick up my injection every 3 weeks so had to go back to 4.

I’m worried about high prolactin and I’ll miss my menstrual cycle. I have my pdoc in the middle of this month and I guess I’ll tell her to go through with it. I’m just being stubborn. I just wanted to see how this typical AP would work before I did anything

Missing my period is one reaso. I love it!
