Not that I want friends. But it seems people avoid me, which is fine… am I that strange?

you might be mistaken about people avoiding you? why do you think that? friends are hard to come by. I only have a handful of friends from college and that’s it.
I’m similar to you. I think we give off little, non-verbal cues that back people off of us. Personally, there are a lot of things I miss out on by being solitary. It makes it very hard to meet women. There is a lot of information others get that I don’t. I don’t worry about it too much. There are compensations for being alone.

Do you have much in common that people irl can relate to? like hobbies or a profession? I think most friendships are based upon things people have in common so if you have little or nothing in common with people, that could explain why you have so few irl friends.

B_B is dead on the money here. Common interest is the organic way relationships begin and evolve.
That sounds like so much effort. Like I said not like I want the commitment of friendships. I’m shocked my only friend is still with me, I feel like I keep up no end to the friendship, but he likes chillin with me and I him.
It is probably because you are quiet most of the times and people tend to avoid quiet people. Try starting a subject with someone every while you will start to change your perspective
Friendships definitely take effort, unless you have something that they want, such as sex, money, power, etc. Otherwise you have to work to keep them. If you don’t feel like putting in the effort for an irl friend, have you considered getting a pet? Since you have something they want/need, food, water, affection, shelter, they’ll be your friends without too much work!

I read some quote by some famous person who said you are lucky if you can find four or five real friends over the course of a lifetime.
I will be your friend, kellie, even if’s only on this forum. My best friend is a cat. You can always trust a four-legged person to love you in ways no human can.
