is this some form of intrusive thoughts
or ?
i found this reply regarding this question
Your brain doesn’t want to experience failure or feel embarrassment or shame so it feeds you negative thoughts to keep you small and reduce this risk. Studying is a challenging feat where it’s very likely you’ll experience some not-so-nice things along the way
I don’t know where you got that reply, but I would think its incorrect if it was meant to refer to intrusive thoughsts. Its more like your mind working against you IMO
For example.
I used to work security on the weekends. One of the places I used to work had this big furnace for melting metal down. Looking on the internet, it may have been called an induction furnace. Anyway, sometimes when I would do my rounds I would have these unwanted thoughts of walking into it.
I don’t know how embarrassment or shame would have anything to do with that situation.
Id disagree if say it’s because your working or overworking your brain. Your brain is like a muscle. It gets tired and need to excrete waste products etc. if you over tax it it will create a negative feeling for your to stop this destructive behavior. Studying in moderation is good and will not cause depression. But over studying (including normals amount of studying but say with other stresses which amount to too much) will cause depression
