Why did my post need approval?

I posted something on @everhopeful’s Thread about GLP1 meds warding off certain cancers and my post wouldn’t go through

I received a notification that said my post was on hold and had to be approved

Why is this?

It is making me feel very paranoid right now. I think people may not want me here because of things I’ve said.

Test message. Repeat test message

Didn’t happen to me then

Maybe your internet disconnected as soon as you tried to post ?

@Wave

Hi @Wave. I have been sleeping. The only reason I would know that your post would need reviewed is if there was a watched word. I dont see anything atm , but let me look into it.

I cant find your post or any record of it @Wave . Perhaps someone else saw it and know whats up. I have no idea.

What thread are you talking about that you tried to post on? Can you link it?

The site seems to be experiencing problems right now, at least on my end.

thanks for the link @everhopeful . I cant find anything about it. sorry. There is no record of a rejected post. no post waiting for approval. Its like it vanished. I dont know.

@Wave I can’t find any record of this post in our action logs, and I also don’t see any record of it in the link @everhopeful provided of the thread in question. Would you mind inviting the mod team to the automated PM you got? It may have been a glitch related to your recent account glitch weirdness.

Posts will get set to require approval if they contain a “watched word.” Our list of watched words are not bad in and of themselves. They are just words that are often used in association with known current and former scams. A lot of them are holdovers from before new users had to have their first post approved by staff, and they were meant to weed out spambots. Some of them are just common delusions, and having it set to require approval make it easier for us to verify that the post is recovery oriented. There are no consequences to using a watched word. This feature only exists to streamline mod duties.

We used to have them set to just a background flag, that the user would not notice. That created a background glitch, though, so we had to switch the way we did it.

This exact thing happened to me a year ago after 5 years of no flags and I freaked out, turns out I just said a word that was on a no-no list because it triggers symptomatic folks too much and is off limits. Can’t repeat it obviously but it was just a term for a concept that is flawed and rooted in delusion. I remember being surprised that didn’t happen more often given how frequently I post.

The tip jar for the moderators is empty again.

Just sayin’.
