Who would do this

Lie about having terminal cancer? I mean I know it happens, but what are they getting out of this? Just binge watching Dr. Phil.

I’m not going to judge. I’ve done a whole bunch of stuff i’m not proud of. She has problems. Welcome to the human race. I understand the binge watching though.

I knew someone who lied about it in order to get pain meds from different individuals he knew, as he told them his prescription had run out.

He ended up committing suicide a few years later, which in itself is sad. In his case his addiction drove him to desperation to get his fix.

Thanks I hate it!

Munchausen syndrome, I believe

That’s pretty bad. I have a cousin who told his best friend that he was dying of cancer. She told her family and they were very distraught about it. They prayed for him and cried. I asked him if he was serious, and he admitted he did not have cancer. I asked him why he would do that. He said he just wanted to see how they’d react. Normally, he is a pretty funny individual though I told him that was not something to joke about. He fessed up to his friend. Her whole family started calling him an idiot. He was still welcome there. They just never took him very seriously again. It’s strange what some people do for attention.

I’m surprised they still talk to him

So was I. She ended up getting married and they lost contact with each other over the years. Her dad was the one who most ridiculed my cousin after that. Her older sister did sorta stop talking to him. She’d just look at him and reply, “Ok, whatever.” and walk away after that incident. I explained to my cousin that my dad was a cancer survivor and that my grandmother from my dad’s side of the family died of breast cancer. I didn’t find it funny.

The Medications work like a truthserum sometimes.
Maybe that’s why I talk bull sometimes.

This person also lied about muscular dystrophy, which is a condition that I have.
I haven’t progressed into getting a wheelchair, so my condition is mild at this point- but she has no idea how painful and bothersome MD really is!
I got so mad when I was watching this.
I hope that she can get the help that she needs.

There was a woman here in Australia who lied about having brain cancer. She opened a go fund me page and started exploiting people’s kind natures when they donated money to her. She ended up with $100,0000 all up in donations. She went around and bought all expensive clothing, etc. She was eventually caught out and is going through the courts. Hopefully she’ll get some gaol time for this.
