Does he exploit the vulnerable for personal gain and ratings? Or is he a legitimate, effective Doctor?
Putting peopleās personal problems on television does not sound healthy!
Also from a personal friend of mine in the psychology field, he is not actually using psychology. Just a con man in my eyes.

He is a doctor, just not a medical one. His doctorate is in psychology.
I havenāt seen much of what he does but I donāt like it. I think itās probably all about the ratings and the $$s

Yes. I think itās perfectly fine (and accurate) for people with a PhD to refer to themselves as a Dr - but in the context heās using it its certainly misleading

I think itās not black and white. Certainly, one of his goals is getting high ratings but I believe he also sincerely wants to help. his guests, whether itās the housewife on drugs, the father who wants to stop beating his kids or Shelly Duvall talking about her fall from grace.
He is fully aware of the accusations of this type. Itās just that basically, Big names boost ratings.
Iām not a fan at all, donāt view him as a psychologist.
Anyone dumb enough to have their problems solved on-air deserves whatever misery befalls them.

These people prob get paid. U couldnāt pay me to get on TV n talk about my problems. I think he just likes the paycheck. Itās kinda like TV judges.
I think he oversimplifies. Solving problems isnāt as easy as being able to jack yourself up and talk about them. Words can be cheap.
