So have you got any disabilities regarding long time ap use like tardive dyzkinesia etc.?

Nope, no long term side effects.

Have you got any characteristic change like aggresive mood or personal like since that time

I’m sure my personality has changed in 32 years but I doubt it was the meds. I don’t have any negative effects from the meds.

About 22 years. Went off meds for a year. Bad year.

No problems except diabetes (possibly Zyprexa, possibly genetics) and some leftover weight gain (@$%#ing Zyprexa).

Meh. First day back at work after Xmas break and it’s friggin’ cold outside. I work outside. Nothing to do with the APs.

Geodon, Effexor, and the dosage isn’t relative/meaningful to you since you’re not me. Go with whatever your doctor tells you is best.

On antipsychotics-1975-1982 (7 years) 1998-2005 (7 years) 2006- present day (9 years) = 23 years

1982-1998 on lithium only, 2005-6 Taken off meds for a year by pdoc coinciding with change from schizoaffective to personality disorder.

Biggest side effect-weight gain. Also few spells of akathisia.

Current med-risperdal consta 25 mgs been on it since 2009. Helps more with positive than negative symptoms.

Current mood- neither really happy or really sad.

Been on antipsychotics from 1994-2000 and 2008-present. No TD, no side effects at all. My first medication, Haldol, gave me some movement side effects, but it went away when they added Cogentin. Currently taking Prolixin 20 mg and Loxitane 100 mg. I’m going to be weaned off the Prolixin soon, and a blood pressure med called Prazosin will be added to control my nightmares and PTSD.

I think these stories are very couraging new ap users.

This site is plagued by anti-med, anti-psychiatry trolls. You can safely ignore them. Most suffer from delusions of grandeur to varying degrees or have delusions about their SZ having spiritual significance.

I see you´ve been off meds for a long time. Why did you start taking meds again? Full blown psychosis? Or symptoms becoming untolerable anymore?

I was off meds for just over a year . It was increased paranoia that resulted in me going back on them.

@Firemonkey thanks for answering. How bad was paranoia?

@anon40540444 Which were the symptoms and how bad were they? Did you have insight?

I thought the question would be: “Who is using APs more than 20 years in this forum, and still has a functional ■■■■■?”

[/quote]When I relapse everthing is religous and spiritual. I am still a religous and spiritual person. It is hard to see the difference of delusions and bieng a spiritual religous person.

I try not to believe in anything in the spiritual realm and in no religion but the voices become stronger somtimes.
