I need glasses but often don’t wear them. Everything is blurry whether I wear them or not because my eyes have a condition I don’t know the name of. It’s less blurry with glasses but not enough improvement for me to really care.
I have nearsightedness. I have for a very long time. I rarely wear glasses for it though. I am beginning to develop problems with close up vision with age as well. I also believe I may be getting beginnings of cataract in right eye as vision is a bit blurry and see “halos/rings” around light sources in that eye. I have eye exam tuesday and will probably get bifocals.
It took me a long while to admit I needed glasses. I kept complaining subtitles on the TV were too blurry and gritty, and that the writing on roadsigns was too damn small.
Then I got glasses and realised the problem was me all along
Because of the astigmatism, I’m very wobbly without glasses. It affects my depth perception, which also leads to headaches, dizziness and nausea.
I have astigmatism and nearsightedness. Also, a couple of years ago I had to get bifocals cuz I couldn’t read even with my glasses on. I spent some more money and got the progressive lenses so I don’t have that little line on the glass. I also got transitions lenses so they turn into sunglasses when I’m outside.
Ha, I’ve certainly been accused of being short-sighted before, lol. I’m working on it.
I’m nearsighted and got my first glasses in third grade. I wore glasses all through my school days. Now wearing glasses is kind of cool with all these fancy frames, but when I was growing up it was a definite disadvantage.
When I was growing up in the 1960’s and 1970’s you always had the token fat kid in your class, and you also had the token couple people who wore glasses. If you wore glasses you were supposed to be a geek or a nerd. But I kind of went against that stereotype, I was pretty cool for a kid who wore glasses, I hung around with the coolest kids in class, I was alright at sports and got in a few fights.
Outside of school I had cool friends and did everything they did. I always hated wearing glasses though. The worst part was when you were playing around with your friends and someone knocked your glasses off so they fell to the ground. Always slightly embarrassing. So when I got LASIK done in 1999 it was a godsend. I loved it and I don’t wear glasses to this day except sometimes to read.
I have both of these as well! I’ve worn glasses since I was about 12 or 13 probably a 12 since about a year later I was diagnosed with Graves disease a thyroid disorder
