Who here is a masochist?

It’s actually pretty bad in my case. They should have masochists anonymous. I’ve been told I am a masochist and I also know I am one without being reminded.

I had horrible issues with this for a long time. Masochism can be horrible.

I am a minochist.

You mean narcissism right not masochist? masochists cause physical pain for sexual pleasure.

Lol I need sleep and will get some soon - someone who enjoys pain, or who derives pleasure from harming oneself or being harmed by others

No, a masochist gets pleasure in pain. Unfortunately sometimes it is not just physical pain but mental as well. Which can cause a lot of strife when you are picking fights just to get a negative reaction.

is this insensitive of me? don’t mean any offense by it

Sorry but that is a sadist. the sadist gives and the masochist receives.

The sadist is the one doing the effing… the masochist is one being effed.

I am a physical masochists,mental not so much now…

effing
[/quote] XDDDD

May I point out that masochism is not by definition sexual and that is just means pain, period, not sexual submissiveness like going on your hands and knees and having your hair yanked. My masochism is physical in working out and dieting and also mental, forcing myself to function whether my brain is willing or not.

I think what I mean is that learned to enjoy pain, as it is a huge part of my life and always will be.

I knew once one person who said he wanted to start practicing sadomasochism with his girlfriend.

sa·do·mas·o·chism (sd-ms-kzm, sd-)
n.
The combination of sadism and masochism, in particular the deriving of pleasure, especially sexual gratification, from inflicting or submitting to physical or emotional abuse.

It was funny, during my 8-month military service people came often to me and talked about their personal problems because I was a scribe and then this young man who had a Russian name came and told about his sadomasochism desires with his girlfriend and I thought people can do whatever they want to do, even practicing sadomasochism as the whole former Soviet society did after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Proper SM is NOT abuse! It is done with the full and enthusiastic consent of all parties, with pre-established limits and safe words, and if anything starts to go wrong or bad, play stops immediately. That being said, a lot of people do SM wrong, and that can be abusive, but when done right, nothing should happen that anyone doesn’t want to happen.

My partner is a sadist, I am a masochist, and when we play, it comes from a place of love and trust, not fear or anger. He hurts me in just the ways I want to be hurt, and despite him being the dominant one, I have all the power, because I just have to stop playing, say no, and it STOPS. That’s where the trust comes in. If I didn’t trust my partner completely, I wouldn’t let him hurt me, because I need to be certain that if I say stop, he stops.

It’s weird to think that the person tied up and being whipped is the one in control, but for a safe, healthy BDSM relationship, that’s the way it has to be. He decides what to do, I decide if we do it. And afterwards, we cuddle and kiss and talk about what we did, discuss what we liked, what maybe should be rethought, and how to better enjoy the next session.

Masochists in my opinion are sick individuals, who need help fixing their behavior. I was the victim. I stood up, manned up, and kicked it out of my life.

There should be no time for any excess human behavioral conditions taking over peoples lives no sir. There are mindless ogres out there you have to be aware of you see.

All I can say in attempt to help out anybody is, if there are some a-holes, in your life don’t feed them any of your conversation. Because that is their goal, to get in your nerves, get your reaction. It’s how they mess with your head. Enjoy the silence.

Weightlifting = no pain no gain… there is a certain level of pain that is good in that it shows you are working the muscles, tearing and building…just don’t overdo it and pull something or get one of those rotator cuff injuries…

You should read this if you want to learn where the name Masochism comes from. http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/search/?query=venus+in+furs

It’s this guy named Ritter von Leopold Sacher-Masoch who wrote Venus in Furs. I don’t recommend looking for his books in a library though. That’s how I learned about the sticky section in the campus library.
His books or the Marquis de Sade (where “sadist” comes from) will be unfortunately soiled, so download, download, download.

Sorry if I offend…
