i don’t own a television but only since june 3rd, so it’s been 4 months without a tv. i didn’t watch alot of television before, maybe a couple hours a night, either a basketball game, women’s tennis, or news. now i have a bday coming up and i don’t know if i want a tv back or not. i try to be productive but i still have 6 hours of free time, and have no hobbies other than reading, so i wonder if i should give tv another try. basically i am no longer informed on news, i don’t know the storylines in the news anymore, i haven’t decided if this is a good thing or not. i’ve already posted about mind pollution and not letting myself fill my head with things other than things that i happen to think about on my own. so if i don’t have a television i can tell you that i will sit here in the dark for 4 hours everynight and do nothing, think random thoughts and wait for bed.
I don’t have a tv and never use one.
Got a detuned 65" TV - but its a computer monitor - hooked upto the pc rig and a fire tv cube.
Dont watch live tv - cos i refuse to pay for a tv license.
Its just a nice screen for me. Maybe when the prices come down ill get a curved higher Hz monitor, but my eyesights so bloody terrible i need a large screen.
Is it catatonia? Off meds i freeze for hrs.
no it happens every evening, i have a hard time doing things past 6pm, most of my activities are during the day, it’s like i got bored with the day, turn off the tv and laptop, and just sit here thinking about things. also like this forum it helps me to take hours long break away from here not to get burnt out so i do that in the evening. in the past i used to turn on the tv for a couple hours, but tired of it, now without it, i just sit here in the evenings. i don’t know what is better tv or no tv, i didn’t get more things done with my day by getting rid of the tv, which was the original plan.
I have a computer hooked up to a tv and just use the same screen for computer and if I decide to stream something. I also have a tv hooked up to antenna that I never use. I occasionally will watch “wheel of fortune” or some such show on my parents TV in the living room but that is rare. I don’t watch much TV.
I say get a TV but buy a cheap little Bluray player with it.
That’s what works for me at least. I pretty much only use my TV to watch movies and sometimes I tune into Svengoolie for fun.
my family has a tv but not me… i really dont find tv that interesting. youtube you can watch whatever you want
Dad uses TV daily.
I have a 4x2 TV for big internet or console gaming. Haven’t hooked it up after my room clean though.
yeah i used to watch a lot of youtube, but will you believe it i haven’t been on that website for at least 6 months, i don’t even go there anymore, i don’t know why. i use to go there for music, but now the only thing i would go there for now is “how to videos” or workout tips. i think because i got tired of the ads or whatever.
I’m a TV junkie. I’ve been watching TV ever since I was a little kid. Although I find I don’t like a lot of modern shows. I watch a lot of reruns of shows I liked in the past, I watch the news and the late night comedy talk show monologues…
Edit: Mine is a 40" Sharp Aquos. It’s a very basic LCD TV but has a nice picture. I bought 10 or 15 years ago.
yea its amazing for learning, you can learn how to do anything on youtube…the educational landscape of the internet in general is great
I have a 32 inch roku tv. It’s wifi. I don’t get satellite or cable. It was 129 bucks. I’m glad I got it. I can use it to listen to music. If I wanted to watch something I could. My sister pays for netflix for me but I’ve never used it. I also have Amazon Prime which from what I understand has a lot of shows. Now if only I could focus on tv. But it’s worth it to have the world of music at my fingertips. Anything I want to listen to, any time.
I don’t own one. Never watched one at my parents and you have to pay a yearly fee in the UK to fund the BBC of you have one so I was like screw that.
A better question is who doesn’t own a banjo?
Jk!
I watch maybe two hours of TV a day. Well, more now since I found a show I really like.
don’t have a tv, haven’t had one in almost a year, don’t miss it
I have a smart TV
And a DVD
I have a smart TV but my dad is the one using it. Thinking of getting a monitor seeing as how awful my eyesight is as well.
I have a ‘dumb Tv’ since 2014. I hook it up from time to time. I’m watching Tv via internet. Sometimes I’m in the mood to put my Tv up and the XBox Series S. Mostly I watch YouTube. I had a room once, when I lived with my mother, which had no Tv connection. So I played games and watched YouTube. Pre Sz times.
I dont have a tv if i want to see something i use my pc screen.
