Which of these is not BS and did help you?

I´m reading opinions over physiotherapy and it seems that doing exercises and stretching are the core of the science. But, can you find them online or you need to pay your PT?

Anyways, which of this do you think is or not ■■■■■■■■? And why do you think so?

-Chiropractors
-Osteopaths
-Physiotherapists
-acupuncture
-reflexology
-reiki
-hydrotherapy
-etc.

I’m a fan of chiropractic, but I know a lot of people on this forum think they are quacks.

I have no idea of what the physical therapist is that I saw. I did about two months then quit because it wasn’t helping much.

You’ll experience nothing but a placebo effect from these.

Never go to a chiropractor.

At best you get scammed.

At worst, they can kill you.

Physical therapy was great for me. You can find the exercises online, but a trained PT knows which ones will help your specific situation. If you can’t afford one, trial and error is usually okay unless you have a serious injury.

Acupuncture helps me a little bit, but it doesn’t have a lasting impact.

My husband loves his chiropractor, but again, it hasn’t had a lasting impact. Mostly just provides temporary relief for him.

His osteopath didn’t help him at all.

My doctor wants me to try hydrotherapy, but insurance won’t approve it for me.

Reiki is mostly just someone helping you with guided meditation. You can get the same effect from a podcast.

Never heard of reflexology.

It´s the feet thingy where they can feel if you have a problem with your liver and fix it by pressing your feet

That doesn’t make any sense.

I use a Chiropractor when the back gives out. And he always manages to relieve it without me being off my face on Codeine.

But at nearly £50 an hour hes a last resort. Forget about the NHS - i would be waiting weeks, and they just thro painkillers at you.

I’ve only seen a chiropractor once, and he was at least honest when he said he couldn’t help me and referred me to a neurosurgeon. I didn’t know it, but I had burst a disc in my back and the fluid was squishing my spinal cord, that was causing my pain and numbness. I ended up having back surgery to fix it. I’m glad the chiropractor had the ethical sense to know what his limits were in trying to help me.

I have gone to someone who massages feet to heal body. Is this the same as reflexology? Anyways, for me it works. It really helps take stress away and I feel like a better version of myself after a endt session. This sensation can last for a week. So ideally I should go once a week, but it’s expensive.

But ofcourse, don’t expect a miracle. We don’t expect a miracle from our medical doctors, so why should we do so from alternative practicioners. If you have expectations whitin reason there is a lot of things that are beneficial.

Nevertheless I believe that sports massage is pretty beneficial for athletes.

Especially because it increases mobility and flexibility: there are not many ways to target the fascia and break down scar tissue.

It has benefits aswell, on helping with circulation in sore/injured parts of the body

I went for this with my gf early on in our relationship.

It was so painful but i was like “i aint no ■■■■■” so i tried to tough it out lol. Then i passed out and was drooling and mumbling . I woke up and everyone was around me trying to wake me up. my gf thought i had a heart attack so she made me go to the hospital to get checked.
Said i had syncope (fainting).

So now im forbidden from foot massage

Yeeee haaaaw :cowboy_hat_face::partying_face:
