In the past, over ten years ago and earlier, I traveled a lot, visited many nations and many US states, but nowadays I do not travel much. In this year I have just visited another small town near my little town. Somehow I feel that I would not enjoy so much traveling any longer.
I went to Galena, Illinois in February.
It’s a quaint, historic town.
I recommend going.
I did my own coffee, my own candle, and my own necklace.
It was a lovely time. All by myself.
I went to the nearby city for a friends wedding reception. Haven’t left my town otherwise. Ah wait. Went to topeka for my birthday and then again about a month ago to go to a bookstore.
I went to Crystal Springs Mountain Lodge earlier this year. It’s about three hours drive from where I’m staying. It was a breathtaking view and awesome chalets we stayed in. My brother in law paid for the accommodation and my friend and I only had to pay for our food and petrol.
I drove myself up North to visit my mom and my step-dad. They live about two hours away; about 180 miles.
Retired my (2) passports chock full of stamps from all over the world 3 years ago,
to the backyard now seems pretty far these days.
I went to the Maldives for a week, beautiful x
Yeah been awhile since I left town and gone on holidays. Has been on the list, but limited by finances. More so as starting therapy again. Also have no car to just jump in and drive.
I booked my ticket yesterday, I’m visiting Beirut for a 6 week vacation to see my family in september. I could’ve gone to Europe though, it can wait. I think it’d be nice to see my family, I haven’t seen them in about 5 years.
Ive been all over the state of victoria this year. For work. Delivering stuff. Its been fun. Most trips took the whole day. 6 hour drives there and back. Being paid to drive around listening to the radio is awesome.
I’ve only been out to some of the near by lakes and down to Ocean Shores to enjoy some surfing and playing around in the water.
Tired one over night camping trip… it went well.
I have never been in Beirut or any other place near there, would like to visit Beirut one day, sounds fun.
It’s really interesting and adventurous. There’s a huge difference in the culture, lifestyle and mentality if you’re American or European. I grew up in Beirut and lived there till I was 17. I never liked it there though, always wanted to travel. People compete with eachother, gossip and we have something called prestige. It really matters what kind of car you own if you’re a guy. There’s garbage everywhere and it’s really dirty in the city. What I really liked though was the weather, we have excellent food, beautiful mountains and culture and the sea. People are also very open minded and social. I used to go out to meet friends everyday after work. We had crazy beach parties and great nightlife. People party till morning. Anyway, I can’t wait to spend some quality time with my family, childhood friends and lay on the seashore for some time in September. You should definitely consider visiting Middle East or even the Gulf, like Dubai or Qatar once in your life. I still haven’t been to Europe though, it’s a goal before I turn 30. I’ve been saving money for it. I want to do a big trip, I want to visit paris, rome, vatican city for sure.
This year has been an anomaly for me. Typically, I travel all over to various places in the US. All I’ve done in the past 12 months was drive from Arizona to Illinois. I’ve been around central Illinois, that’s about the extent of my travel. Pretty sad considering what I usually do. I’d like to make my way to Montana sometime.
Whenever I travel somewhere I end up feeling trapped. I’m more of a homebody. Like being where all my stuff is.
It’d be cool to have a job that took me everywhere. It’d all be paid for and what not. I couldn’t justify extensive vacationing. It’s just not my thing.
I think i’d run into a lot of paranoia out there. Is my car going to break down, etc.
I do wish american cities had better architecture and environment all around. Bunch of strip malls and gas stations.
College campuses are nice.
Meh… rant
Got back from Florida on Jan 1 if that counts
I have travelled from my apartment fifty feet to the clubhouse where we have day treatment at the assisted living center where I live. Once a week we travel six miles to town. I have left the auspices of my assisted living center only once in the last year, when I travelled two blocks to a friend’s house.
I would like to travel to Israel, Egypt, Lebanon and other places in that area, but it may never happen, too bad.
