@ThePickinSkunk @fractaled @lofifunk y’all make my childhood look like Disney Land.
@firemonkey what was Belgium Congo like?
I was born in CA. We moved to WV when I was 2. Grew up until the 5th grade in an unincorporated town on the farm my dad bought when he was 19. My dad got a teaching job in VA so we moved to a small town called Clifton Forge and I was there for my 6th grade.
We moved back to WV for my 7th grade year. It was an hour’s drive from my dad’s job in Virginia. White Sulphur Springs (in Greenbrier County). We moved around a few times within Greenbrier County after that. Then when I was in the beginning of my senior year in high school we moved to Low Moor Virginia. My dad rented a log home back in the woods. My childhood was very sad.
As I left there before I was 2,I have no idea.
Good! I’m glad that exists to lend hope for the world at large.
I grew up in the South East of the US. Lived there until I was 23. Then I went out and visited other parts of the US and settled in NY.
What is NY like? Are New Yorkers as friendly as Southerners?
It was tough that’s for sure. I am pretty guarded these days about who I let get close to me. My former neighbor pointed out that I am not a people person. Well no ■■■■ Sherlock. Look at my childhood and you’ll see a connection.

Yep! I expected everyone to be rude as I heard people from NYC are, but nope. And NY actually is full of rural farm country. It’s a big state and the bulk is rural. Just like country folk from anywhere else.
And Buffalo, where I lived 10 years is full of friendly people. It’s known as the city of good neighbors.
jessie winker is from buffalo, best hitter in the national league, he plays for cincinnati reds. i thought new york was beautiful state passing through on greyhound, lots of hills and lights on the hills where houses were.
It’s pretty here. I live in the Allegheny mountains.
I’m so glad. I actually like New Yorkers. My uncle actually lived in Olean for a bit.
I guess I “grew up” in the suburbs of Massachusetts. Although I moved around from NJ MA to Florida to California to Washington…
I grew up in Santa Cruz and downtown Capitola. Also lived in Silicon valley and worked there.
Ohh what was living in Santa Cruz like?
I visited once a couple years ago and it seemed nice from a tourist perspective.
It was very nice. People were easygoing and spent a lot of time on downtown Capitola and the beach.
I grew up in Canada 15 000 people in this small city or town . I changed schools 3 times in four months. I was a problem child… got put on Ritalin from the 3 or 4 foster homes I got put in.
I grew up in the suburbs but I don’t know if it’s the same residential suburbs you see in the US.
It wasn’t really a popular suburb but not a fancy suburb at all either.
I liked my city, nothing more.
I now live in a slightly more residential suburb in a rent-controlled apartment.
Lot of hippies and beach bums, right @see121? Kind of a mellow place.
I grew up here in Arkansas where I live now. The Little Rock Combined Statistical Area has a population of 905,847.
