When you go on vacation would you rather stay in a guesthouse or Hotel?

For me I rather like guesthouses as they’re small. often family run and are a pleasant experience, I have stayed in many guesthouses and hotels and I like guesthouses better. With hotels they are often too formal and impersonal. What do you prefer?

Hotel :hotel::shopping: would be my choice if I had a choice.

Also I’m unsure if guest houses are a big thing in Corporate America? I know when I was looking to go to Toronto they are many guesthouse listings, same as all of Europe, but unsure about the states?

Some guest houses are not as secure there’s often no one running them in person. Unlike in hotels.

I would choose hotel

Neither. I will spend the next year in either my slide in camper or my holiday trailer as much as possible.

I prefer a hotel. I love hotels. I don’t care if they’re impersonal. I like privacy.

If i had to choose, I’d choose a guest house but I’d do my research first to make sure it had everything i needed, I loved the guest house i stayed in in Brugge but they all have their own pros and cons,

Hotels are good but they are more expensive and the one i went to didn’t have tea/coffee making in the room or water which i think is essential.

My preference is hotel, but if the guesthouse means I get the whole place to myself then obviously id go with guesthouse.

Mostly Hotels. And I should prefer medium rate like 1200 to 1500 ₹ per day.

In india I stayed in our community hotels within a temple which were usually cheaper.

@Ish , don’t mind but you are talking about whole guest house in rent.
You are gujrati if I guess.

I mean we usually go for Mahajan Vadi I don’t know if you know what that means… we stay in those kind of budget hotels. but when I go to holidays in Europe for instance we usually book an air bnb which is a whole house to ourself.

I’m not sure what you mean. the only reason we stay in mahjan vadi is cos it’s cheaper and more affordable. we choose affordable airbnb too.

Mahajan meaning Seth. Vadi meaning a part of house for garden.

I didn’t know that was offensive… apologies for offending.

You choose costly for Europe. I mean that.

Not really. we share an airbnb so the cost is shared between us.
