When vendors are selling genuine leather phone cases, why don't they specify which animal the leather was made from?

I want to know if my phone case is alligator leather or cow leather. They don’t specify

You can usually tell by looking at the product.

If it’s cow leather, they’ll assume you know it. If it’s more exotic like alligator leather they’ll usually specify that.
