I had been depressed for nearly five years. During that time I could not bear Mozart’s music because it’s too much joy and it is too fast paced.Instead I listened a lot to Beethoven’s. But now things changed. I’m now listening to Mozart and enjoyed it.
Which one do you like more between Beethoven and Mozart?
I like Mozart’s Symphony 25 in G-Major, it lifts my mood. Don Giovanni-Commandatore too. I really only like Beethoven at Christmas, he brings me down otherwise.
I understand your question. When I hated Mozart’s music I was in a condition of depression. My world was sad, heavy and slow while most of Mozart’s music is quick, joyful and lighthearted. My heart could not follow the pace of Mozart’s music. That’s why I said I hated it. A bit of exaggeration.
I understand. When I was both depressed and suicidal, the hard rock group, Alice in Chains, was my favorite band. And their album, Dirt, was my favorite depressive album. And I adore Beethoven.
When I was depressed the worst, Britpop was becoming big. It seemed that I was locked out of enjoying it. There was a song “The day we caught the train”. I felt I was the only one that had missed it.
