Each case is different. Very difficult to judge as a whole.
Any severe mental illness - Schizophrenia. Schizoaffective, Bipolar type 1 with psychotic features can be a huge challenge.
There are some people on here with paranoid SZ that manage to function quite well, they hold down a job or go to school, live independently etc… The same goes for people living with SZA .
Heck, I am stuck with a Bipolar DX and I am on disability, and am semi independent - because I have a lot of comorbid illnesses like agoraphobia, OCD, panic disorder, anxiety and some SZ symptoms, along with my bipolar disorder.
Dont go by the label - go by the symptoms and how intense they can become.
Its not a contest
That’s like saying, “Which is worse, syphilis or ghonorea?” You can expound on the detriments of both, but both are plenty bad.
I’ve been diagnosed with both, so I’d have to say about the same.
Both are associated with better outcomes than other variants, so I guess I’m lucky.
