What's the point of dating with this illness

When people will say they’re OK with you have it and then turn around and leave at the FIRST sign of symptoms???

I ■■■■■■■ hate people. I’m getting sick of dating. What’s the point.

I didn’t even open up that much about what was going on. Just hey I’m manic and depressed at the same time and going to the er. Then bam he turns around and starts ignoring me for a few days, then breaks things off.

You don’t need to focus on dating right now anyway,

You need to focus on yourself.

It sucks and hurts, but you also don’t need people like that in your life.

Take care of you,

And when you’re stable, dating will be easier.

Women have no interest in me after I tell them I have schizophrenia. Before I tell them they are flirty and interested. They lose interest very quickly once I tell them and I never hear from them again. I’ve been single for a long time. I’ve pretty much accepted I am going to grow old and die alone.

Here is the experiment I did, so I know it’s the schizophrenia and not me personally

I’m hardly ever stable. I’d never date if I waited for that.

How old are you?

I was my worst in my late teens and early twenties.

Which I understand is prime dating time,

But my symptoms got better with age.

Gonna agree with @anon54386108 here. Now is the time to focus on yourself and learning to be okay with who you are. Everyone has insecurities and such, but if you want to have a stable relationship you need to be able to enjoy spending time with yourself. Dating is about selling yourself, and the best salespeople believe in their own product.

I’m 28 and have had symptoms of sza my entire life. My symptoms get worse

Maybe you’re just not getting the right treatment.

Just continue to work on yourself and the dating part will be easier.

No I told you I’m hopeless.

I gave up on dating bcz of my extreme negative symptoms. I imagine positive symptoms can do the same.

Count your blessings you’re a woman, even though you are mentally ill and having problems you are more likely to find someone than a man with a mental illness. Dating with mental illness is far harder for men.

Men and women have different dating strategies and goals. Women want the best genes for their offspring so they hesitate to date anyone with a mental illness which weeds out the men and leaves us single.

Statistically it’s a rare woman that can’t get a man, but there are plenty of men that cannot get a women, even without a mental illness.

I met my last gf before sz, we stayed 5yrs together until she left bcz of my sz.

I’m actually a guy

My apologies,I assumed you were a women because you said “Then bam he turns around and starts ignoring me for a few days”

Right. Men also date men, it’s a thing.

I don’t care about someone’s gender really. I’ve dated people of many genders.
