Whats a movie you wanted to like but didn't quite live up to expectations?

The Matrix Ressurections. I loved the trailer, but was was dissappointed in the movie. After Matrix 2 and 3 I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised.

Yeah that recent matrix movie was a joke haha.

The hobbit trilogy. I was so psyched for it because lotr by peter jackson was the most epic thing I’ve ever seen to me. But i guess i should have known since the hobbit is a kids book whereas lotr is more mature.

Joker

I loathe Joaquin Phoenix,

But, against my better judgment, I went to see it.

Nonsensical, pretentious garbage.

Total trash.

I cannot say enough bad things about this movie.

However, knowing you can get millions of dollars to produce such a dumpster fire gives me hope that one day even my terrible works could make it to the big screen.

I thought it was overrated too. Why do you hate Joaquin Phoenix though?

Do you remember his documentary?

He’s an total ■■■■■■■.

Oh. No, haven’t seen it.

I wouldn’t recommend it,

But it shows he has no respect for anyone.

I’m trying to think of a good movie of his but am drawing a blank.

I’ll have to look at his credits.

Just looked up his imdb.

I guess it depends on what you consider a good movie.

I didn’t see one i really liked.

Yeah they did something interesting with the film. Where part of it follows maximus and part of it follows Commodus until they meet

“Dumb and dumber too”

The most recent one… Was expecting it to be funny as the original but it’s been decades since then so. What can ya do?

Never saw the movie but I guess that goes to show a films budget doesn’t determine how good it is. Napoleon dynamite for example which I think was a masterpiece was made for 400,000 and made 250 million.

basically every modern reboot of amazing classics from the 90s/00s
examples:
ghostbusters
the mummy
star wars (i loved the older ones)
men in black
etc. there are many more

The 2007 rambo movie. I liked the 1-3 from the 80’s, but the new movie was extremely dark. Like Stallone had a eclipse in his mind as he also wrote the movie. Just pretending it never happened.

The Avatar movie. Not the blue people one but the one adapted from the cartoon. When it came out I was so psyched because I LOVED the series. Was so disappointed.

I thought The Irishman was kind of a snooze fest.

And everyone praised DeNiro’s acting in it when in my worthless opinion he didn’t particularly do anything particularly profound with the role.

Idk. Maybe I’ll like it more if I watch it again.

I do think Al Pacino was good as Hoffa though.
