Back when they were good.
Honestly the entire Dakr Side of the Moon album is probably the best example of schizophrenia and life itself. Ive never heard a sound thats better then Dark Side of The Moon. Syd Barrett may not have been part of the band anymore but he sure did supply them with a lot of material by just being him.
Ya, they are really good
âUnwellâ - Matchbox Twenty
"Speaking with the Angel" - Ron Sexsmith & the Uncool
"Paranoid Android" (?) - Radiohead
Iâm surprised no one linked to this song yet. Probably any song in the post Syd Barrett era of Pink Floyd could also be considered about schizophrenia since most of their songs after that were about how they missed him and such and it was believed he had schizophrenia.
Syd was good musician and you feel can the schizophrenia in his music but the other members of PF knew going what was on with him and so he didnât always know that he writing about sz, while pf intentionally wrote about sz so both are good for schizophrenia
Yea apparently Syd Barrett came into recording one time when he was still with the Floyd and said he had a new song called âhave you got it yet?â And he would play a tune and have the band try to play it back. But he would keep changing the tune everytime and asked âHave u got it yet?â And the band finally realized the prank.
Yep I read about that he also came in 1975 while they recorded shine on you (his song) and they didnât recognize him for a while but then they did
Man was a musical visionary ill give him that. His lyrics were genius. Almost like a creative child was writing them
Howard Hughes had bipolar and OCD.
His rhythms were brilliant as well. You could hear his pain in that song you shared earlier
Dark Globe yea. The madcap laughs really is from the heart of a troubled man. U can hear it as a whole. Also i checked out the Brecker Bros first album. Its super funky
Ya. Well I am positive that the wall was influenced a lot by dark globe and pretty much all of syd barretâs music
One less than appropriate one was âSweating Bulletsâ by Megadeth. Metallica also made a few. Pink Floydâ's album âDark Side of the Moonâ ends with two songs that are something like it. Men At Work had a few songs hinting at mental illness although âWho Can It Be Nowâ claimed that the individual had ânothing wrong with his mental healthâ. âOverkillâ is also a borderline song about mental illness. Another good one is âJumperâ by Third Eye Blind. Of course Nirvana made âLithiumâ. and there was a song called "Word Forward by the band the former drummer of Nirvana is fronting. Thereâs also one from Enienem and Rihanna more recently called âMonstersâ. John Mayer who reportedly has bi-polar disorder also made a song used in a NIMH commercial. Thereâs a lot of those songs out there because mental illness is a reality in the music business and life.
U might find this useful
A musical historical note is that when Beethoven had his 9th Symphony first performed critics called him the âMad Conductorâ. Of course it probably had more to do with deafness rather than insanity but a funny note is that a writer blamed his symphony for causing disobedience and disruption among the youth and may cause them to riot. Later sadly it was played by the students in China shortly before the Tiannamen Square Massacre.
Nope beethoven had severe bipolar disorder. He definitely suffered insanity @Blizzard
Bloodstream bby ed sheeran it says " I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream" âall the voices in my mind calling out across the lightâ
That album shouldâve been their last imo.
geto boys- mind playing tricks on me
