what would happen if i just took my antipsychotic but i discontinued or went very low dose on mood stabilizer lamictal would i be at risk of haveing an episode or would i go back to being irritable .im only asking what would happen this doesnt mean im going to do it and i would only do this with my pdocs approval. and do you guys think i could manage irritability with just meditating.
You would likely get irritable and be at risk for other mood symptoms like mania, depression, etc.
I don’t think you could manage it with meditation alone.

I agree with @LED. If you need to be on a mood stabilizer in the first place, you probably won’t be able to just meditate and be okay. Are you having problems with it? Is that why you’re asking this? If so, maybe talk to your pdoc about trying something else.

when i was really sick i used to meditate and my mood would stabilize for a couple of hours . i just want to be able to deep breath i think the lamictal is making me shallow breather. i will talk to my pdoc in two months lol.

If you’ve been on it and it’s helped stabilize you you could ask for a slight dose decrease and see how it goes. Pick up the meditating as you decrease and if you have problems you can always go back up. It’s hard to say without trying but sometimes lowering the dose can help manage the side effects enough.
If you’re sza I suggest you don’t go off. Talk with your doc anyway. If you’re pure sz or have a psychotic disorder close to sz. Its a greater change you’ll don’t get psychotic. Talk with your doc anyway
When I quit (I’m not sza) cold turkey I felt irritable/anxious /suspiciois/insecure.
After that I’ve quit over 1-2 months and didn’t feel a thing. I didn’t really need it but in my country sz people get mood stabilizer for some reason.
I suspect is because they want us to don’t act on our feelings and be more stable emotionally speaking.
My doc told me how I should quit and didn’t even felt the Depakote widhrals

You would probably either get very depressed and even possibly suicidal or go manic and possibly charge up all your credit cards to their maximum credit limits, get in a car wreck, or get an STD (to name only a few disastrous possibilities). I wouldn’t risk it if I were you @anon84898315.

im on abilify wouldnt that take care of any possability of getting depressed?
