If at first a med fails, try try again with a different med or a multiple med combo. :pill:

Then realise recovery is measured in years not months. :calendar:

Keep up with all doctor appointments. :ambulance:

Get a job and stay on your meds. If you meds aren’t working tell your pdoc and hopefully they will get you on meds that will work for you.

I found a job really helped making me feel comfortable outside (not the same as pre-schizophrenic days, but to the point where I could function well). I got a job at the gym and that really helped. It also helped that the people I worked with were really nice to me (also I wouldn’t disclose to anyone about your disease at work, because of the stigma attached).

Don’t believe everything you hear.

There must be the worst in order for their to be the best
There must be a loser in order for their to be a winner

So the belief is: So the worst of you makes you the best
And the loser of you makes you a winner

Win win?

This is about perception, (perception being how you see things) and how one sees oneself, and the tool allowed complete self clarity through the madness, and allowed me to see myself in a better manner

Keep with this belief and you’ll realize the whole thing was of perception of self, and you already are the best you, and can think how you wish to see it.

This belief has been fundamental to my success in this illness

The step towards perception as you conceive it was crucial for my recovery, too. It allowed for a sense of freedom, which enabled a transformation of unknowingly being deluded towards insight into the condition - I believe I read something similar from you once on the forum.

Yeah I am keen on ideas of perception and perception not being actuality.

This life skill above helped me probably the most

We should collaborate and share our ideas of things like this for fun one of these days

I recommend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

No hanky-panky in the common room at night It really upsets the staff.

If you ever feel hopeless and feel like ending your life or you hear voices or get messages telling you to end your life, DO NOT DO IT!!! Get immediate help! Call 911. Call your doctor. Call your therapist, if you have one. If you can’t get ahold of anyone, call 911. Just do it. This feeling of hopelessness or these voices or messages will end. They will. All it takes is getting on the right medications. You need a doctors attention. And fast. Call 911 immediately. Don’t waste any time. Please. Take suicidal thoughts seriously. I lost my 30 year old son to suicide, so, I know these thoughts are dangerous to the extreme. Please get help. Your family and friends love you and don’t want to lose you. Believe it.

I’m scratching my head as to why Daimon’s posts keep getting flagged.

It’s a function of the forum software. Once you reach a certain threshold with flags, if someone flags one of your posts, all of them get flagged automatically and the software blocks you from posting.
