Oh I’m terribly sorry if I haven’t responded to you. No, you’re cool daze. it’s just that this past week I’ve been packing and yesterday was the big move so I have a lot on my mind and a few things going on. My apologies daze. I’ll be sure to reply when I can for sure! I hope all is well with you.
@77nick77 that was a really cool short story about what it felt like to play video games when they first came out. As a long time video gamer the story is almost like a bit of video game history and as your friend it is nice to hear of about those days when there wasn’t a care in the world hah. Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end…
My brother on one quarter could play arcade game for hours Ms. Pacman, Konky Kong, Gaallaga, but he stole my Susan B. Anthony coins that went into the games too. Atari, I wasn’t bad, but he was the master. Asteroids was great but getting too close, you’d never know if you’d be blown up. ha.
my father tries to say my brother has no brain, no doubt on my part.
the hand held games were from the 80’s, we had many. Hello batteries. I was not bad at the football game. Every girl should grow up with a brother.
Ditto, vice versa as well.
I enjoyed final fantasy games, grandia, legend of the dragoon.
A lot of old role playing games
My first was DX Ball. My mom used to bring us to the aunt’s place, where my cousin had a computer.
At school when we were young a lot of us used to gather at the computer class’ door after classes, and wait until we could get in to play RuneScape. The room would be full of us, everyone playing RuneScape.
The first game I ever played was Super Mario 64 on my big brother’s N64. I love that game to this day. However, the first game console I ever got that was my very own was the game cube. My favorite game of all time is Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, and it was one of the first games I played on that console. I also loved Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi’s Mansion. If you can’t tell I’m a huge Mario person.
Old school from the first video games in the 80s was Asteroids and Tempest. I used to have Tempest in my house. Played it all the time.
From the 90s I liked Mortal Kombat 2.
Sonic Adventure
Ultima Online
Sonic 1 & 2
Theme Hospital
I used to love video games when I was a kid, I kind of grew out of them though. There are more important things to me as an adult. I still play AOE2 though. But I see that more as a complicated type of chess.
Mine would have to be mortal kombat on the sega mega drive 2
Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the US), Final Fantasy 7, Resident Evil, and Baldur’s Gate for PC.
All my favs on Super Nintendo have been mentioned, would like to add Earthbound, Actraiser 1 & 2, Castlevania IV, Secret of Evermore and Yoshi’s Island
For PC, Doom 1 & 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Hexen, Heretic, Quake 1 & 2, Half Life, Warcraft 1 & 2, Starcraft, Diablo 1, Nox and Fallout 1
I missed out on the whole era of PS1 and N64 so I’m playing through a lot of those titles right now
Mario bros, duck hunt, zelda, ducktales.
I am real old school my game was pong on my computer
I played pong on my tv when I was young too. It was black & white !
Super Mario on Nintendo, tekken on Playstation 1
We had that horrible pong game that Sears sold:
Don’t know what ever happened to it. My grandmother wouldn’t let us play it on the “good” TV so we played on a 13" inch black and white. Still remember seeing the tubes glowing in the back of it.
