I agree. Best system ever. Don’t forget 007 goldeneye.
Atari was my enjoyable game
Can’t go wrong with Mario, Pokemon or Zelda.
I think it was called spaceinvaders.
This may not be much help, but I played Might and Magic III and King’s Quest V when I was young.
Later I played Wolfenstien 3D but that may not be appropriate or fun for your nieces.
Streetfighter
(sorry)
I remember playing Pong when it first came out, which was the very first video game.
Dang Nick, you’re a video game OG. You have some stories to tell us about what it felt like to first play video games. What thoughts were going through your mind? Was it like, “The future is now!” Hah, it reminds me how a relative told me the story of the very first time they saw a television. Or were your thoughts, “Gotta get the ball on the other side!”
We got hooked on it. We discovered the game in a pizza parlor we knew. We used to ride our bikes there. In summer we would get up early and take my friends lawn mower and push it around the neighborhood and knock on peoples doors and ask them if they wanted their lawn mowed for two bucks. We would amass 11 or 12 dollars and ride our bikes to the pizza parlor and buy a pizza to split three ways, play pinball, play Pong and watch old Laurel & Hardy movies they showed on a big screen with a film projector. We were quite the entrepreneurs. But Pong was cool but since it was the first video game we had no other similar games to compare it to. We had no clue that it would spawn other video games. All we knew was that it was fun.
you can get a retro nintendo console quite cheaply and will cover your bases with those old games.
For a modern system which is kid friendly the nintendo switch is suppose to be really good.
A modern mario kart compared to the retro console may just well be worth it, but it is about £300 for the switch.
I had to look after my cousins kid for a day and he was pretty entertained by the Sega emulators.
Super metroid 15
Well Starfox on the SNES was the first game I ever finished.
Other than that surely Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Suikoden, Grandia, Tomb Raider, just none of them besides of Starfox, Grandia and Suikoden would be kid friendly.
I played all the 18+ age games already in my youth. Can remember finishing Resident Evil 3 Nemesis with twelve years. I don’t know how I was able to get that with twelve.
