I bought a 92 Corolla after I sold my Pulsar. I loved the Corolla and drove it until I left for Canada in February 2003. The guy I sold it to was thrilled to get it for his daughter.
Yeah, it’s a great car!
1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. My dad picked it out for me when I was 17 in 1978. It wasn’t painted when he got it for me and I never bothered to paint it so it was primer grey the entire time I had it.
It cost $450.00 and lasted about 8 months before it got totaled in a wreck that was not my fault. I was working at a full service gas station and I was driving to my house for lunch and some guy tried to make an illegal u-turn in front of me and I t-boned him. His insurance company ended up paying me $800.
I’ve owned about a dozen cars over the years but this was my favorite; had a lot of good times in it. I hate to say it but me and my friends partied in my car all the time. This was the late seventies when getting caught for driving under the influence was not as serious an offense as it is now so we always drove with a beer in our hands and usually smoking a joint. Heck, this was so long ago that wearing seat belts wasn’t a law yet. In fact the prior owners had taken all the seatbelts out of both the front seats and the back seat. They stuck them in the trunk and I eventually put them back in.
But yeah, I made a lot of good memories with that car. Just being 17 years old and whenever I wanted to go somewhere I just ran downstairs and hopped in my car and went cool places. In fact I drove up to Oakland with a friend in 1978 to see the Rolling Stones in concert. We took some acid at the concert which made the drive home at night through traffic a little dicey.
Mine was a 1988 Mercedes Benz 420SEL it was the best car I’ve had. Unfortunately it only lasted about two years before replacement parts got too expensive. My mom worked as a cleaning lady and one of the wealthy folks she worked for sold it to us for 1,200$. I loved that car. The first car I bought myself I still have. It is a 2002 Ford Escort sports edition.
1994 Toyota Camry. It barely worked but I still loved it being my first car…

I lived that car so much. It had a full bench in front. It was a boat but I loved it. I ended up living in it for 3 years. It was my first place to call my own. Being homeless I felt very lucky to have a place to call my own.
