What the f&$k!

Psychedelic drugs are coming back in a big way disguised as medical treatments for mental disorders like anxiety, depression and PTSD.
No fking way!
These are on the way to get FDA approved soon!

So bad for schizophrenia and bipolar so please stay away from these drugs.

A short stint with the mind altering drug Mescaline triggered my Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

I’m so disappointed

Yeah its similar in danger to some of the amphetamines we get prescribed.

High risk for sure and not necessarily any reward for trying it.

That’s horrific.

They want to make people sick perhaps.

I’m afraid of going to hospital and having my enemies “act” as staff while being hateful and malicious and pretending to be professional.

I doubt they will allow it for people with schizophrenia. And it will only get approved if it shows effectiveness for anxiety, depression, ptsd. I dont think its a big deal.

Im especially concerned with this new view of “therapeutical treatment” of MDMA

MDMA?? Seriously?? That stuff messes up your brain

Microdosing has long been known to relieve deep depression. Sometimes for months after 1 dose.

Don’t discourage people based on bias. Learn the science.

Well these programs excuse those people diagnosed with a schizophrenia or bipolar disorder anyway.
It’s contradicted with theses mind altering psychedelics, thankfully.

I’m sorry but I’m not buying into the “science”

Because you have a knee jerk bias. And honestly, you are not a doctor or scientist, so your opinion is just that. Opinion.

I think in a controlled setting it may be alright. Could alter someones perception enough to make a difference. But it could just as easy cause a big destabilization. Its a risk, just have to decide if its worth the risk.

But whether the positive change is lasting or if you just revert back a few months later is also hard to know

I took the risk with using ritalin and also modafinil off label a couple years back and it destablized me quite a bit. It was worth the try for me though.

More long term studies on the effects of these drugs on the mind need to be performed.

It may be opinion but I’ve had personal experience with a powerful hallucinogen and it did its damage.

I’m sorry but a lot can go wrong with even microdosing.

We’re not dealing with cannabis

I’m really excited about these advances.

Psylocibin has been known to treat depression.

And sign me up or any MDMA trials.

I’ll gladly do it.

One bad experience does not equate a failed drug. Look at how many people hate APs and how.many experience awful side effects.

I’m one of them. Do I discourage others from using them? Not at all. Because my experience is not everyone’s.

I can barely tolerate the meds I’m on. Y’all can have it lol.

I have nothing to lose at this point

I know that there are those of us who want to join in on these trials but they wouldn’t be accepted into the program.
Having a psychotic disorder like schizophrenia or bipolar disqualifies them from undergoing these psychedelic treatments

@Wave on one hand I agree–it takes a level of awareness and responsibility to remain consistent with a medication or anti-psychotic that works. Abilify has been a life-saver, and wellbutrin is helping me live my life again. I know 4 women with PCOS who have schizoaffective disorder. New research suggests estrogen receptors play a role and both men and women have equal levels of testosterone and estrogen receptors in the brain–however people with schizophrenia have “mutated” estrogen receptors which could be a precursor to the overall divergence in people’s perception and receptivity to stress.

repeated stress would cause a sensitivity to the estrogen receptors–feelings related to love, communication, fundamental processes. but also could be genetic factors. Another common link to emotional and mental illness/perception disorders seem to be the bio-neurological tissue in the brain. myeline coats the nerve axions and stress can tear it down both physical and mental. The brain uses physical energy to conduct mental processes.

Altering the neurological processes could lead to changes, neuro-plasticity–but self-medicating with shrooms or lsd or ketamine would be far worse than through professional research scientists. You would have to develop trust with the provider. Anti-psychotics are still seemingly psycho-active, they change the activities brain impulses and behaviors, all of them are mind altering, its just risky with MDMA and not something you want to develop too broad a spectrum or legalize without weighing the risks to this science getting out of hand or becoming unregulated.

There’s been a paper put forth theorizing the use of MDMA to help with negatives.

Hate is understatement when come to AP.
