What steps can you take for low self esteem

I eat myself up all the time over my insecurities. I basically fight all the time about things I can’t change like my looks or what people think of me. I think I got over my sz and was left with the things that put me there. I want to change my logic on how I overreact to these things. Are any of you good at not eating yourself up over these things?

Just change the things you can and accept those that you can’t change. That’s my philosophy.

I think it is a lot more complicated than just deciding that I shouldn’t care about that stuff though. I think therapy would be a good step. I don’t have access to it at the moment though.

Not unless my dx changes or I end up back with a cmht. I think there is a local lottery funded program, it is not exactly traditional talk therapy though. I have been thinking about getting back on it again.

Honestly it not something you will get through overnight. It takes time and practice. It’s just getting through the thought of “I don’t want to be miserable anymore” so then you put in the work to build the self esteem and get rid of the insecurities

I think I kind of have the attitude that I will just fix everything wrong about me, I kind of just get frustrated when there is things I can’t change though.

But honestly there isn’t anything wrong with you. It’s what other people’s opinions that make you think there’s something wrong with you. It took work for me to realize to be OK with who I am and what I’ve become and screw what everyone else or society thinks of me. I love myself and I love what and who I’ve become.

For me personally it all starts with self care. That includes a healthy diet so I’m not worried about my health and feel physically good bout myself. It includes morning meditation this can as take as 30 seconds. Just a strong positive focus. Talk therapy. Valuing life in whichever form that takes.

Find something you like, like a hobby, and be good at it.

You don’t have to do anything for low-self esteem, it just occurs naturally.
It’s fairly easy to get if you try.

I have struggled with self esteem issues for years and what really helped me was writing out what I felt the sources for all my various self esteem issues were. Then I addressed each of those sources and pointed out why it was flawed to base my self esteem on those things.
