What savings did you make this month?

I cancelled Amazon Unlimited because I haven’t been reading on it. I cancelled pet insurance because it was going to be $250 for two dogs, and that just seems nuts. Instead, I’m setting aside money each month for their care, plus money for general household emergencies, medical/dental, or cars breaking down. But my insurance went up. I noticed that Geico didn’t have an option listed that I deem critical, even though they had given me the same coverage I had with Nationwide. Lies. So my neat little $160/mo car bill doubled. At least I didn’t find out that they lied the hard way, once I’d had an accident or otherwise needed that insurance.

None.

I spend a lot on high quality healthy organic food. I do not wish to save on that. As long as I can afford.
I spend a lot of money on things I cannot do anything about. Like rent. Or health insurance.
I already spend very little on all the rest. Near nothing.

Well…maybe I can save…sometimes I forget to turn down the heating at night. Thanks! That is sometimes to watch out for!

Also, maybe I should plan my grocery shopping better.

I am on loan. I have nothing to spend. Only I have to learn and earn and pay back the loan.

My finances are pants, so im only saving about ÂŁ400 a month. Its my personal independence payment i am squirrelling away.

It wont last long tho - It takes one guilt trip from the mother of my little one for me to hand it over lol.

I was positive but I owe some family money…so cut back the takeaways has been huge. I pay over half my money to the old man for bills and then I live. It’s good but it’s still hard to get by. Just don’t buy beer. Eat within reason and give away all that takeaway which is so attractive.

It’s early days but hope to have more in savings at the end of my fortnightly pay week.

Im pretty frugal, I don’t spend much so I save around $1000.00 per month. Also am pretty simple, everything I own can be fit into a 3 foot by 2 foot basket.

That’s good you can save that much.

Are you saving for something @Natron ?

  1. Bought coffee in bulk.
  2. As far as what I bought for solid food, as I recall, I ate a diet of mostly bread and peanuts a couple of days ago. I find that it saves me some money to do that sort of thing about twice per week.
  3. I probably did other stuff.

Yeah, saving for a car, I haven’t had one in over 4 years.

I don’t think I could buy a decent car without borrowing more money than I already have, at the moment.

Inflation has been significant in my life.

None. This was a bad month financially because we had to buy things for our trip to visit my mom. But it’s worth it for sure
