It is definitely putting my creative friends out of work. I had one friend who wrote SEO material for Web sites. ChatGTP does it well enough and cheaper. Another friend and his wife were doing food photography. He’s the photographer and she is the food stylist. They shut down their company. One of my wife’s colleagues has a business helping do training videos. He is lucky his wife has a job.

Big changes coming.

Big scams and bad actors with no skills but good ideas on how to disrupt society hurt institutions and people will love having these super tech at their fingertips

I would probably put a mix of good and bad things now. But likely mostly good for the future.

Like any major change, we will have to adapt. Unfortunately, that is likely to cause some major pain for some people in the short term.

AI is not the problem. There are old fashioned ways of looking at economics that wont die. The great depression was caused in part by rich starving the economy of money eg taking away jobs. New Deal showed spending money to make jobs recession proofed the economy. Its going to take geezers to die before its realized that an economic foundation of everyone having basic income to survive is a properly working welfare state which will keep money flowing through the economy. Basic income is the answer as it is money that in large part wont be saved.

We are gonna have to see what AI is capable of if it takes all the jobs it will crash the world economy. however as it stands idk what’s gonna happen in 10 years I think we all have to wait and see.

i think its very impressive but a fad in some ways lol once new technology comes around everyone kinda goes crazy for a while. if it does change history it will surely be slow and over time.

My wife is going to a northern school division next week to teach them how to use AI to generate learning units, exams, and for automating marking. Textbook companies are going to take a hit for sure. She has already rejigged three of the courses she teaches so that texts aren’t needed. Everthing is in the LMS now.

I don’t know much about it, but some people seem to regard AI as a threat to humanity. I can see how military AI could be a threat, but there is also a lot of potential for AI, like programing robots to do dangerous jobs. I think some people want to make sexual robots. I don’t know much about it, though.

Yeah…I will have sex with a robot around the same time that Bob Hope returns from the dead and has his next variety show for the troops.

It’s a mixed blessing, but robots can’t get pregnant. As the technology develops robots will become more appealing, but they will have a long way to go before they can replace human sex.

They might produce robots that are such good sex partners that human beings will lose their need for each other.

You have such limited imagination :open_mouth:
:robot: :pregnant_person:

Yeah, I’ll still be waiting on Mr. Hope before I participate in the “rob the robot” and “Data” orgy. It’s my criteria. It has been established.

So it goes like this: bob does a little standup before to get you in the mood for the sex robot?

Well, it was supposed to be my version of “when pigs fly”, but whatever fantasy you want to engage your mind in is totally up to you  .

Kinda reminds me of a Movie called the stepford wives

Yes, you have pinned me down. A little “Bob hope celebrates the troops” TV special, some robot sex, and then maybe some cuddling with Nintendo’s “rob the robot”, sounds like a fine night indeed to me. I cannot fool you.
