What other antipsychotic could be added?!

Hello,
Anybody have experience in what other antipsychotic can help with the side effects of Abilify?!
Specially the sudden outbursts and/or sever uncontrolled anger!!
I was thinking may be adding another antipsychotic in a small dose can help
But what is it?
Any idea?

You have to discuss this with a professional, they might suggest a medication to help or other methods, doesn’t necessarily mean it will be an antipsychotic.

Seroquel is commonly used as an add on to Abilify but please talk with your doctor first.

I was also like that on Abilify.
My psy switched me to Latuda 80mg, I am slightly better now overall but no more rage, impulsivity, addictions or compulsions.

I’m no expert but usually pdocs add a mood stabilizer for anger issues like Depakote or Lithium.

Thank you
I wanted to hear people’s experience!
Psychiatrists are not doctors, they don’t know anything besides throwing the dice game!
At least in my area!

They are doctors and often read my bloodtests.

In my experience, if i had known the possibility that the abilify was causing me mood symptoms and irritability i would have talked to the doctor long time ago… i ended up being prescribed a mood stabaliser a few weeks ago, seems to be helping a bit.

Thanks for your reply
Depakot causes more anger in my experience :disappointed:it was tried before!
Not sure about lithium+abilify!!

I’ve heard good things about quetiapine and risperidone towards anger issues. I’m on risperidone myself and I do get pissed off sometimes, but I down often express it.

Of course,
All I can do is tell the doctor The opinions im gonna hear and see what he thinks!
He’s the one who can order or write prescriptions

I was impulsive on Abilify, I would act before thinking about the consequences of my actions. I wasted tons of money and accumulated debts because of Abilify. There is over 2600 lawsuits against Abilify as of June 2019.

Thank you
Unfortunately We had bad experience with Risperidone in the past too,it caused sever dystonic reaction and sever anger and agitation issues…

Ok I’ll tell him
Thank you

I had to come off it when I had things like that going on

Also anger issues can be caused by anxiety and depression. Have you tried any antidepressants like setraline, Zoloft or lexapro?

The problem is its not pills
Its Aristada Initio long term injection
And it was given 4/17 about 10 days ago
So its still in the system and it will be for a while!!

I was on 25mg Abilify pills but doesn’t the injection have the same side effects?

I was thinking too that lithium may do something…
I’ll ask the doctor since fortunately he’s humble unlike all other psychiatrists I worked with before!

It does
The difference is you can stop the pills and start something new But you can’t stop the injection, you’ll have to live with it until it leaves the system
It was 675mg followed by 662mg so I don’t know how long would it take to get rid of that poison!!
