What is your relationship with makeup? Another impossible beauty standards thread

I’m thinking about giving up makeup,

But I kind of think its impossible for a woman my age.

When you go out people think you’re sick or running late if you don’t have full make up on.

Do you wear makeup everyday?

What are your feelings towards it?

It’s all trickery and deception. Less make up the better. No women or men should be wearing it in my humble opinion. It’s a lie and natural is the best way to go.

I wear my ring when I go out, and maybe makeup

I tend to think the older I get the more I look like a corpse.

I don’t wear makeup unless I’m feeling really good about myself. It’s a indicator that I’m doing better. I like the little ritual of putting it on and I wear very little when I do it. It takes like 2 minutes. But when I’m not doing well it feels like a lie. Like I’m misrepresenting how I’m doing.

I’m like @Leaf. You know I am feeling really good if I have makeup on. If I am manic I might have full face on.

Nothing more than eyeliner and lip gloss in the summer, though. I sweat to easy thanks to perimenopause.

I know women that spend 45 minutes applying a “natural look” to their faces,

Makeup is a strange thing.

45 minutes? I wear no make-up or just mascara. Very rarely eyeliner, perhaps once a month.

My full morning ritual - getting dressed, shower, breakfast if i feel like it, make up, hair, brushing teeth - doesnt even take 45 minutes!

I usually go by a natural look: takes 10 minutes.
Sometimes I spend 25 minutes and do my full face.

I consider myself an artist, I don’t wear makeup for other people, for me, it’s a way to express myself. Feel good about me. It’s something creative that I enjoy.

For clients, I spend a minimum of 60 minutes for a makeup session. If I will also fix their eyebrows, a bit more time.

Right now, I have been really spending more time in skincare. If you don’t feel like wearing makeup, invest in good skincare routine. When you have a healthy glowy skin, you don’t really need much makeup.

I think I also look better with some makeup. A little mascara etc.

I don’t wear any makeup and my only skin care routine is regular ol’ Ivory Soap.

For skincare, I have an AM and PM and facewash routine. I also mask every day.

I moisturize my body, feet, hands, after a shower, apply oils, creams for different areas etc. I am a beauty junkie!

My recent addition has been boob, chest and neck cream.

I don’t wear any makeup and I don’t have people treat me differently.
