Do they actually help? Do they make you feel better? Or is it a myth
I didn’t realize any difference when I was taking them. I heard most of them don’t absorb well when taken orally. My Dr said all they are is expensive pee.
I think they help me. When I have experimented with going off my supplement regiment after a couple of weeks when the vitamins wear off I feel worse.
Apparently AP’s deplete vitamins, so that alone is a reason to take them.
If you eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables you should get all the vitamins you need.
I don’t have a very healthy diet, and my doctor advised me to take a multivitamin/mineral if I’m not going to eat right. I’m currently taking prescription vitamin D and iron because I’m anemic and deficient.
Made me constipated so I stopped taking. If I could find one that does not make me constipated I would take it.
I take vitamin d before it was low now its OK, its because I don’t go outside
I use Vitamin D3, vitamin B-12, iron, and calcium. These were on my doctor’s orders since lab tests showed that I was low in these. It’s hard to know whether the supplements I’m taking are actually effective tho since there’s no oversight from the government with supplements in the US…they can have what they say is in it or it could have absolutely nothing in it and the labels are false. There’s no way of knowing if you’re getting what it says is in it.
My opinion on vitamins in general is that they appear to be happy, well-adjusted and mostly content with their role in life.
My old roommate’s doctor said that he might as well put his money in the trash. He spent a lot on suppliments. My doctor said they help “some”. I eat a lot of cereal and vitamins are put into it. Because of inflation I’m going to stop buying suppliments except iron, which, I believe, is an element. I think it helped my borderline anemia. I may be able to afford a multivitamin.
I’ve changed my stance on powders which can only be situationally beneficial in my opinion.
I’d eat fatty steak or a liver since there are no other substance on planet with more available nutrients and minerals per calorie. Rare or slow cooked is best.
Multivitamins I believe baits you into deluding yourself that it’s okay to skip real food and chew on plastics instead. Which you could probably get away with, but how ideal for optimal long term performance (both mental and physical) is highly questionable.
But since you asked about vitamins only, I’d like to reiterate that it’s okay to supplement with certain substances if certain food isn’t readily available. Fish, krill oil, etc. Without fully going to crystal keepers territory.
I was anemic too so my dr doubled my iron intake supplements.
I was taking one vegan iron supplement a day but now I’m taking two vegan iron supplements a day.
I just can’t get enough iron in me without help from supplements I feel.
I also take b12 because I’m vegan and I take other supplements too sometimes.
I like my vitamin supplement. It makes me feel better.
I think the need for vitamin intake really depends on the person.
I might as well be vegetarian too as I can’t afford meat anymore. It is a healthy diet except for B12 and iron sometimes.
Vitamins help with general health, but it’s best to get them from food most of the time. Eat healthy and that’s one of the many factors that can influence mental health. But no buying 20 different vitamins and taking them every day won’t do anythything. I’ve tried it and so have many people here.
Herbal treatments are a different story, but again I think they are sually quite mild and used to support general health. Not gonna stop your voice in their tracks. Eating healthy will do more for you than taking vitamin pills ever will.
