What you’re calling a caramel delight we call samoas and they are my favorite, followed by thin mints and the peanut butter ones (I think they are called tagalongs).

Who bakes these cookies? Do they just come round to peoples houses selling them?

Here they’ll usually have a stand out in public for people to come up and buy if they’re interested. I dunno about other places though.
They used to knock on the door now they set up a table outside the entrance of the local grocery store and that’s where I usually buy them.
Keebler has a close copy of both the Samoa called a Coconut Dream and the Thin Mints called Grasshoppers.
