Is it good or bad in your view, to be worldly?
Just curious ur thoughts?
Here is the wiki
When I think of the word “worldly”,
It throws me back to when my parents were crazy religious, I was in private religious school and attending a lot of religious services.
Worldly always was a bad thing.
Like you were part of the damned if you were worldly.
I’ve also heard the term used to describe promiscuous women.
So, basically I have the word attached to a bunch of negativity.
The definition of worldly is someone who is familiar with the ways of the world.
I think there may be some dangers.
Certainly not worth one’s innocence shouldn’t be a goal but maybe it’s kind of cool when you’re worldly and people can tell I mean it might be kind of fun
I see your perspective though.
shake harder boy shake harder
Practical. Street smart. Selfish. Not necessarily self serving. Capable unconditional charity.
I think you’re either worldly or you’re not. Born not made thing.
Good for you if you’re one. Not necessarily for people around you. Morally nothing wrong with it.
Wow thats some badassery!
Wordlyness imo is about being “of” or “about the business” of down here rather than being about the business or “up there”. About a life of virtue and holding to the truth… A worldly person only thinks about the now. Worldliness turns a person into an animal like being or worse since even animals have some concept of the truth which they adhere to.
You could call the truth another world in the sense that your mind is “somewhere else” while you access it. The worldly man is always focused on something “here” and never thinks, but spends all of his time tasting, seeing, and hardly ever occupies his mind with anything other than what is on the world. Hence hes called worldly.
Thanks for that definition
I like the concept of the truth being another world it’s sort of like Plato’s concept of forms
Yea that’s what I had in mind dude
Having a balance between worldly and spiritual works for me.
they dont call him the poet for nothing
I think that’s the right approach to life as life is a transition from one to the next.
