What is the minimum wage where you live?

I was curious, what is minimum wage where you live? Feel free to list it in whatever currency your country uses but if you can convert it into US Dollars so we all have a frame of reference (Since the US Dollar is the worlds reserve currency).

I live in Ontario Canada. The minimum wage here is $14.35/hour (Approximately $11.60/hour US Dollars)

I think that it is still $7.25 in Iowa. I live right on the border of Illinois too though. The minimum wage in Illinois is significantly higher. I believe it is $10 and set to go higher in 2022.

i believe it’s 8.25 or so here in indiana. my first job at 15 years old paid $13/hour 20 years ago, so i think it’s embarrasing low, there is republican state senator from my hometown that hires high school kids and pays them the minimum wage, not federal senator, i think he is pariah. most companies here pay at least $12/hr, above the minimum wage

I am in Ontario as well. I thought it was $15 an hour, but I don’t follow it

No, it went up a whopping 10 cents an hour in the beginning of October to $14.35

$0.10 an hour, wow. Now I can start looking for that mansion in the country I’ve been dreaming of LOL

£8.90? a hour - England - I earn more than that in benefits in England.

Okay, that is approximately $12.20 USD, similar to where I live (Ontario, Canada).

However where I live disability payments are less than a person working a full time minimum wage job. I think the rationale is that a person working full time should not make less than a person getting money for free, it wouldn’t be fair to the person working hard every day.

$12.50 for everywhere except New York City where I think it is almost $15 now. Not positive off top of my head.

Nope your £2,116/month (1300 + 816) is almost $3600 CAD or $2900 USD. I don’t make anywhere near that and I am on disability and work 2 jobs.

But I may explain they’re is shame claiming benefits in England. I haven’t got a explanation why I’m drinking at an 4 star hotel. What I do for a job and people always asked what I do for a living. Always. I have to make things up

There is no official minimum wage here, but the law surrounding it is pretty complex. Unions negotiate a minimum wage depending on the type of work. Those minimum wages are basically law, regardless of whether the employee is in a union or not. And they are generally a lot higher than any of the numbers listed here, even for unskilled labor.

I looked it up. In Belgium the minimum wage is 9.65€ or 11.2$.
