What is sz?

good for you, thank you for sharing

im rather confusedā€¦i think you arent really making much sense. The genes are random mutations, just like how lighter skin was selected in Europe when humans migrated there. The thing with schizophrenia is that it is maladaptive, it doesnt lead to more offspring, people with schizophrenia do not often have children and so only a very small portion of the human population has schizophrenia. If schizophrenia wasnt maladaptive, there would be something like 10% of the population with schizophrenia.

I think you believe that the symptoms of schizophrenia have some sort of spiritual meaning. It is true that hallucinations are an expression of the subconscious, but that doesnt make it good- my subconscious wants me to die, given what my voices used to say before I got on meds and quit hearing them.

Im having a little trouble understanding youā€¦English isnt your first language, im guessing?

outside the discussion frame
If you please,do not explain my view of sz truth, because you do
not know what is it or its details, and you using wrong conceptions to explain its frame
-i do not say or meaning that the symptoms of sz have some sort of spiritual meaning,
whatever the meaning, conception or connotation of {spiritual meaning} in your culture
when i talking about the symptoms of sz
there are two different symptoms
1- inner symptoms, the features of ontological case of sz inside the schizophrenic,
{the features of sz cause itself }
they are the things so-called hallucinations,I CLASSIFIED these things as the
causative symptoms of the case itself,it means that the hallucination is the main cause of sz
2- external symptoms, including all aspects of thoughts outputs and all patterns of schizophrenic individual behaviors outputs, they are classified as a diagnostic symptoms of sz,
they are the result of the inner symptoms activities in brain-mind of the schizophrenic,
which in turn causing a changes in the balance state of the brain

LOOK AT what you said ā€œI think you believe that the Symptoms of schizophrenia
have Some of Spiritual Meaningā€
you do not know ,what i know about the Inner and External symptoms of sz or the difference and relationship between them

to understand the point
you think that,sz is maladaptive
it means,sz is the RESULT OF maladaptive

but from the truth perspective,
the maladaptive is the result of sz cause activity in brain-mind
because the features of maladaptive is the
behavioral patterns of the schizophrenic{ outputs}
this means that, the sz cause, causing the maladjusted to the host
in all aspects of thought or behavior
What is the cause of sz ?
the inner symptoms
what is the inner symptoms?
the things so-called hallucinations

you have wrong reading to the features of sz,like
who read English from Right to left !

=i can explain the truth of sz without need any help from anyone

Schizophrenia is caused by genetic mutations dude. Im done talking to you, youre quite ill.

I like to consider a 5th dimensional object passing through my 4th dimensional being. You see a little of its manifestation one day and day by day it grows then you have a psychotic break which is the objects largest portions passing through you. Itā€™s more of a metaphor and Iā€™m uncertain as to whether or not Iā€™ll fully recover but thatā€™s how I like to see it it gives me hope. My behaviors actions and thoughts brought my schizophrenia upon me. Since becoming Shinzo Iā€™ve changed all of that and I am getting better. I keep telling myself itā€™ll just be a few more weeks. Strange thing is now Iā€™m used to my delusions they are kind of hard to let go of but Iā€™ve had better days. There is no telepathy and the other voices I hear are just retarded. Iā€™m getting close to the end of my psychosis and I can feel it. I hope you all can find a way to overcome your sz. Be it meds meditations or pure strength of will. Iā€™ve learned a lot about what it means to be healthy by becoming sick I can only hope this is just one tormenting chapter of my life.

I told him/her that too

You wrote " Sz is caused by genetic mutation"
YOU BELIEF IN HYPOTHETICAL mutation for UNKNOWN phenomenon } for you {
1-for what reason you belief in this amulet while you do not know the schizophrenia itself ?
2-if the schizophrenia is the result of genetic mutation, the main problematic for you
you do not know what is the main characteristics of the product {SZ} !!

The talking about the causes before have knowledge with the phenomenon
is empty talk

YOU DO NOT KNOW BOTH OF THE SCHIZOPHRENIA OR THE GENETIC MUTATION
what is arise the laugh, you think that Sz is caused by genetic mutation

You wrote ā€œIm done talking to youā€
I know, you have nothing to say
,BECAUSE
1-you are talking about sz from the books ,
where you can not find answers about my questions
2-you have not self-experience with sz

you have hypothetical information about sz from the medical books
while you have nothing from self-knowledge

why you give HALO on the scientists theories,as if they speak with the name of GOD ?
while no one of them can see, hear, touch the schizophrenia case inside any schizophrenic individual ?
no one of them can know; how the schizophrenic individual felt the sz case inside his psychological world ?
=there is no direct observation to the sz case inside the basic nature of the schizophrenic
=there is no diagnosis for sz case itself by means of lab

  • for example, when the schizophrenic individual hears the voices or sees the
imaginary people, the scientist can not hears these voices or sees the imaginary pictures,
so that, for what reason you belief with hypothetical causes for these voices while
the scientist do not hears or know these voices ? !!*

there is no objective reading to the basic nature of the sz inside the host !
the question
for what reason you belief in hypothetical causes as an actual causes ,while the scientists have no self-means or scientific means to know or show the phenomenon itself ?

where your mind ?
symptoms of sz are vary different about the sz case itself, like the different
between the flu disease itself and the symptoms of flu,the diabetes disease
and the symptoms of diabetes
so that, diagnoses of symptoms of sz IS NOT A diagnoses to the sz case itself
because SZ itself is INTERNAL case ,and all scientists do not know the basic features
of the internal case of sz

=if you neglect what i say,you can ask the doctors ,and ask about the scientific evidence

no one know any specific gene for sz,because sz is not medical condition
in root origin {although it causes many disorders in the thought,behavior and biochemistry}

you wrote" youre quite ill " !!

-you are claim that, you have schizophrenia and take medication to quite the voices,
and you describe your case as a being have ill or disease

-in reality, your are actor/representative or be a schizophrenic upon request
be a schizophrenic in case of need or if necessary !..WHY ?

if look at any medical book about the schizophrenia, and going to the section
which describe the basic personal characteristics of the schizophrenic individual

-you find that, the basic feature of the schizophrenic individual, he does not
acknowledge with the existence of medical condition,he belief that he have not
any disease,he feels that he is not ill being for many reasons he knows

(whatever he takes medication or not }
1-the internal symptoms that he felt inside himself is not a symptoms of
disease or illness
2-the medical drugs can not remove the internal symptoms (the heard voicesā€¦etc}

-so that ,the natural schizophrenic individual, is the person who does not
acknowledge with the disease, and this is basic predisposition

-LOOK at your posts, you try to appear your self as an ill being suffer from
genetic disease, while in the actual world ,any schizophrenic individual
do not show or realize any symptoms of disease in his internal world !

just he felt a voice messages and vibrant imaginary pictures in his internal world ,and these
things is not a symptoms of any known or unknown disease

he listens to a words and sees a pictures ,that is !

Do you think, the schizophrenic individual becomes smart man If he acknowledge
that the sz is disease or illness and he is sick being ?

speak or talking using your tongue, the schizophrenic individual never hears
the voices messages during the time of talking ,
{all time you hear your sound you never hear the voice messages}
this is the free way to mute the voice message without need to any medication !

=stay silent (do not talking} and take any medical drugs, you will hear the voice
message whatever you do

Please stop talking to me. I said I was done. I am schizophrenic just like you, show some respect.

I donā€™t think you have to dumb it all down for us here on the forum. People here are smarter than you give them credit for. Iā€™m interested to know exactly what areas of the brain are affected by SZ and I donā€™t think you need a degree in neuroscience or psychiatry to understand most of this stuff.

well if you asked for it, ok.

taken from my latest paper-

Schizophrenia
is a neurological disorder, it has a genetic component and schizophrenic brains
are neurologically different than normal brains (Green 2003). Schizophrenia is
a familial disease.Ā  It runs in
families.Ā  This has been common knowledge
for 200 years and is easily observable (Rosenberg & Kosslyn 2011). This
obviously implies that there are genes associated with schizophrenia.Ā  Neurological abnormalities are observable
with modern technology.Ā  MRI scans show
that cerebral ventricles are approximately 15% larger in the brains of people
who have schizophrenia.Ā  Abnormalities in
brain tissue have been observed in postmortem people with schizophrenia,
ranging from cell loss to changes in the architecture of cells in the
hippocampus, amygdala, parahippocampal gyrus, entorhinal cortex and cingulate
(Torrey 2006).Ā  These differences are
usually slight, only 5-10% different from normal controls (Torrey 2006).Ā  MRI scans have also shown structural
abnormalities in the thalamus, it is smaller than controls (Torrey 2006).Ā  Less common are structural abnormalities in
the prefrontal cortex, cerebellum, brain stem, superior temporal gyrus and
inferior parietal lobule (Torrey, 2006.).

There are multiple genetic theories
as to the causation of schizophrenia.Ā
One of the leading theories is that genes do not cause schizophrenia,
they only make a person more susceptible to having schizophrenia if the person
is exposed to environmental factors such as birth trauma or nutritional
problems (Torrey, 2006.).Ā  Several
susceptibility genes have been identified by researchers, but it is unclear how
many susceptibility genes there are; researchers do not know whether there are
only several or dozens or even hundreds of them (Green, 2003.).Ā  Another leading theory is epigenetics; this
is the theory that only minor variations in genes are causes for schizophrenia.Ā  An example to illustrate epigenetics is to
imagine a line of cars, all of the same make.Ā
An epigenetic theorist would call a car not of the same make a
defective, deformed car of the same make (Torrey, 2006.).Ā  It is not the gene being completely
different, it is minor changes which account for variation in the genes and
therefore susceptibility to schizophrenia.

Neurochemical theories are very
prominent, especially since the advent of antipsychotic medications.Ā  The dopamine hypothesis proposes that because
antipsychotics are efficacious and lower levels of dopamine in the brain, there
must be an excess of dopamine in the brains of individuals with schizophrenia
(Rosenberg & Kosslyn, 2011.). Also, drugs that increase the flow of
dopamine in the brain have been observed to produce psychotic symptoms. Ā This theory was proposed in the 1960ā€™s and has
only recently lost credit due to new antipsychotics which do not block the flow
of dopamine, such as Abilify.Ā  However,
Abilify is known to either be efficacious or backfire and make positive
symptoms worse, so there is no clear verdict on the dopamine hypothesis
(Torrey, 2006.). There is a glutamate hypothesis which stems from observing
schizophrenic symptoms and behaviors in people on PCP, a glutamate blocker, and
glutamate is a major excitatory neurotransmitter.Ā  Because glutamate is often paired with GABA,
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is also associated with schizophrenia, as it is
an inhibitory neurotransmitter (Green, 2003.).Ā
These theories are steadily gaining more credit with further research.

There are many obsolete theories as
to the cause of schizophrenia.Ā  Stress
theories do not hold credit for various reasons, most notably the fact that
schizophrenia rates do not spike in times of economic turmoil or war (Torrey,
2006.).Ā  Stress, at the most, is given
credit by some to simply ā€œtip the scaleā€ in people predisposed to developing
schizophrenia (Rosenberg & Kosslyn, 2011.).Ā
It is more remarkable as a cause of relapse in recovered patients, not
as a factor in the cause of the disorder. Ā Some people used to believe that masturbation
caused schizophrenia, until studies were released revealing that most people
masturbate and most people do not become schizophrenic (Torrey, 2006.).Ā  Parenting styles, particularly bad mothers
were blamed by psychoanalysts, until people realized that there were no
controls for these observations and were therefore obsolete.Ā  Dysfunctional, ā€œbadā€ families were blamed and
later discredited for the same reason as bad mothering; there were no healthy,
stable controls (Torrey, 2006.).Ā
However, highly expressed emotion in families (not positive emotions) is
correlated to a higher likelihood of relapse in recovering people with
schizophrenia (Rosenberg & Kosslyn, 2011.).

there, written in fragments so @atabo can understand it

Very well written! I donā€™t think that was too hard for us normal people to understand.

LOOK at his knowledge disorder
He were wrote ā€œpeople with schizophrenia do not often have children and so only a very small
portion of the human population has schizophreniaā€

While he wrote" schizophrenia is familial disease,it tuns in familial "
=Do you understand this language ?

It seems like roughly 50% of your posts include long non-sequitors about how you are such a good athlete and good student. You repeatedly say things like ā€œI got an A on my paperā€ or ā€œI was a great powerlifter with absolutely no body fatā€ in an overly large proportion of your posts. It really gets repetitive and annoying after a while. I would also like to comment that the pairing of the sentences "Schizophrenia is a familial disease. It runs in
families. " reveals that you may not be the expert writer you believe you are, despite your professors ā€œnot marking anything wrongā€ on your papers or whatever. Just donā€™t assume you are the smartest man on the planet or even the only person with any understanding of cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, behavioral neuroscience, neuroscience, etc, etc, is all Iā€™m saying. Iā€™m sorry if this post comes off as aggressive but I just feel this needs to be said.

Another thing to consider is that SZ is might be adaptive in some way when you look at it at the societal level, although it may be hard to imagine how. Just as Touretteā€™s may not be adaptive on the personal level, I have a friend who has a theory that Touretteā€™s was adaptive at a societal level because it may have been societally advantageous to have that one person who would shout out things that other people wouldnā€™t say, like ā€œThe emperor has no clothesā€ or something like that, which would get him killed, but he would would say it anyway because he had no control over it. So it may have been adaptive at a societal level to have these SZ people who were perhaps looked at as ā€œspiritually inclinedā€ or were for some reason societally beneficial in past generations. But maybe not! I mean, peanut allergies have survived and itā€™s hard to imagine how they could be adaptive on the societal level for anyone. Anyway, just something to consider.

There is a big problem with scientists not being able to understand spiritual experiences and ā€œspiritual peopleā€ not being able to understand scientists. As someone with SZ Iā€™m sure you are aware that people can have very out-of-the-ordinary experiences and so it surprises me that you are not more sympathetic to someone who looks at the symptoms of schizophrenia as the most important issue rather than the science. I am of the personal philosophy that experience is more fundamental than logical thought, and that many scientists may be fundamentally wrong when they say things like the physical brain ā€œproducesā€ consciousness. I guess Iā€™m just saying that both sides need to work together.
