Why are you switching,
Is it because of the hair thing?

Pro’s: It just may make you well.
Con’s:
It takes away all sexual drive and feelings. You may not be able to be aroused or orgasm anymore.
It destroys creativity. You may not be able to dance, sing, play your instrument, write, paint, etc… etc… or, it will be mightily difficult.
Abilify may make you more psychotic. It did me. Risperdal gets rid of psychosis.

A few other things as well, in case it’s the abilify, if those symptoms get stronger, I may have to consider switching yea.
Some ‘negative symptoms’ kind of stuffs and appetite cravings.
My hair seems to be plateuing at the moment in terms of hair loss.
But who knows with time, it may get more again since I am back on abilify only for a month atm.

What is the main reason for that?
Weight gain you sleep forever. The never ending appetite no emotion. No libido. The same reasons e everybody else says.

Risperidone is an alright med. i use it as a temp when switching meds. But i can only take it before i hit 30 extra pounds. But you may not get weight gain. Abilify made me loose hair also and gamble uncontrollably. Along with not work.

When they gave me risperadone for a short time to wean me onto the depot jab i was starting - i got nothing but restless legs and anxiety. Used to get a metallic taste in my mouth, and spent 3 days in bed like a zombie. But the paliperadone equivalant i have via jab gives me no problems now.
