What is being romantic like anyway?

Discussion from @san_pedro

To believe in love histories, that you like caresses and being hugged, a lot of kisses, telling beautifull things,… Haha

really is that romantic???

That is a given all couples do that when they love like each other?!

I am not sure about the word ā€˜caress’

What do I know about being romantic?
Sheesh, for valentines day my (ex) husband bought me a personal copier- you know, the thing that duplicates papers,- I thought that it was the best Valentines day present - Ever.
Been told a few times this is not normal, but what the heck.

well I am not sure if it is better than a vacuum cleaner on Valentine’s

I guess most men need some teaching… What you like, go shopping together. Last year on Valentine (?) I received a Tiffany Bracelet  Which unfortunately I wore it once

Honestly In my opinion and personal experience, words are much more important for women.

Women like what they hear. Women like Effort

He once asked me while in a rather, uh, um, ā€œfriskyā€ mood, in his best sexy voice, He whispered in my ear to tell him what he could do that would ā€œturn me onā€.

Without missing a beat I replied, ā€œThe dishes!ā€

Folks do not try this at home…

AWWWWWW Come on!!!

How many years have you been in a relationship???
My parents are more fun than both of us

That one lasted 25 years, I had been married longer than I had been single.
Oh the things that people don’t tell you about getting married!

I’m currently married, (my second one, his first-although he had a relationship for 20 years with the same woman before)
and it’s going on 4 years now.

Funny thing is, my ex husband and current husband get along fine, as do me and my ex, no drama (I dislike any kind of drama, so unnecessary) and I talked to my current husbands ā€œexā€ (and their kids)on the phone-(they live too far away to visit) and no drama there too.

It’s nice.

I think a man intrinsically becomes romantic if he’s really with who he wants.

I don’t know… I’m a romantic man. Most if not all of the girls I’ve been with are pleased with me. Consider it bragging but I fin it funny that stories roll in. The girl who gave me my first kiss in kindergarten met up with my cousin and was going on about how she kissed me… as a romantic that’s both a dorky and sweet thing to hear.

I think it’s more about sentiment. The moment matters. There is restraint, and the actual partners matter…

I mean I’ll just say it sucks that the world isn’t quite geared to see it that way… because to us all else is debauchery…

That said not many have a smooth tongue and I’ve only been with a couple girls who seemed good at sex.

I think all of it gets better later in life.

I don’t know much about romance anymore. One thing I think is romantic is getting flowers for a significant other just because. That scored me points once a long time ago. Also apparently whispering sweet nothings in spanish even though they don’t quite speak spanish.
