In my society they recommend 20 alcoholic drinks a week, which is quite a lot in my opinion, this would be three beers a day. I try to avoid all alcohol.
what society do you live in
Three beers is so much, when I was in France long time ago some people might have consumed half a bottle of wine with their lunch. There are a lot of people who drink wine with their dinners and when you think wine has 12% alcohol this equal six beers.
My society involves the original 12 Steps, so the answer to that is NONE. If you belong to a society of people taking medications prescribed by a psychiatrist, then the answer is also NONE.

20 alcoholic drinks a week is a lot - I don’t think its recommended. I personally do not have the urge to drink alcoholic beverages - havent touched a drop since I have been taking psych meds regularly
You are probably right that it is not recommended, it was just one of those news I saw long time ago.
My society, the gastroparesis society, says NO ALCOHOL YOU WILL DIE!
im from the uk here people cram as many alcohol units as they can into as short a time frame as possible forget their night out eat a kebab get into a fight and throw up then go home and that’s a good night out.
In my society, the South in the USA, most people my age drink like…oh wow…probably way too much. I have like one beer, sometimes two. I shouldn’t, but hey according to statistics I shouldnt be alive and doing well so ha

In louisiana we live under different laws from the rest of the country, i forgot what its called. but if you are eighteen you can drink with your parents consent. that was fun. I wish i could still drink
At my sickest my own recommendation was a half gallon of liquor and 120mg’s of Adderall crushed and snorted…not societies recommendation? Huh.
oh my. no not recommended at all. though ive been there done that !
I live in Southern New Jersey and there are people that drink that in one night. It’s not a lot. I’ve never heard anyone say how much it is recommended to drink. It’s really personal choice. When I was younger I drank a lot with people who also drank a lot. Now that I am older I can take it or leave it. Sometimes I drink 1 or 2, which is what I usually do. Or I have more to where I am feeling good. On nights where I decide to let loose I really don’t count how many I have, I’m focused on the people I’m with and how much we are laughing. The only times where I absolutely do not drink are if I take an anxiety med or pain med. My family are big drinkers. My cousin’s wedding was this past Saturday and the alcohol was flowing. I was taking my anxiety med that day because I was in the wedding and was having panic attacks. So I was drinking soda. I had a blast. Usually I need some alcohol to get up and dance, but I was dancing all night. My cousin made “hangover bags” for everyone to take. They had chips, water, and Tylenol in them. Most of my family was feeling no pain, but we’re happy drunks so everyone was laughing and telling stories. My aunt has been going through a hard time with her son and his girlfriend who live with my aunt and uncle. She was able to let loose and was dancing and laughing and having fun. A lot of people pass judgment on those who drink and say “oooh you had x number of beers.” So what? It’s that person’s choice. If you are old enough to drive, join the military, smoke, and join the work force you are old enough to decide how much you want to drink. If it’s not for you, don’t judge people who feel it’s right for them.
Memphis is a fun place, I have been there just once. It was when I drove from LA across America and one night I arrived at Memphis. I did not stay long and I continued through Mississippi to New Orleans. I was then 14 years younger In Mississippi when I was on the rest stop some people came to me and said if everything is ok because they had seen the Holy Ghost around me, would they have just known I had just driven from LA to there.
Well on meds it is best to avoid alcohol, so don’t feel like you should drink. I drink socially the vast majority of the time, and only have one or two beers. Any more than 2 and my sleep get disrupted, I wake up in the middle of the night and then go back to sleep and wake up too late, like way too late. I had a beer last night because I had consumed too much caffeine (like seriously, too much) and I still took a long time to go to sleep, so yeah- I shouldnt drink that much caffeine.
One beer is ok if I am out and drove to the place, like a restaurant, bar, house party, ect. but if I didnt drive, I will have two. Three is pushing it. Three makes me sleepy, then makes me wake up in the middle of the night like I said earlier.
Do keep in mind that I am on three meds, an antipsychotic, an anti-anxiety and a blood pressure med. I make a point to drink late at night when my anti-anxiety has worn off, it is dangerous to mix it with alcohol. I usually take my xanax at like 4 or 5 then drink at like 10 or 11, when the xanax has worn off- and I can feel when it has worn off. Drinking within an hour after taking a xanax is very stupid and will double the effects of alcohol, so two beers would feel like four and make driving a no-no.
