What if your cat gets lost while going out for a walk

This evening I took a walk with my husband. We talked a lot about keeping pets. Mr Green5 said if you want to keep a cat that’s fine, but you must let your kitty go out of the house once everyday. Then we agreed that a cat can not be led with a leash like a dog does, so the cats will tend to get lost. I said if my ketty gets lost my heart will be broken. Suddenly I realised I would not adopt a cat as a pet. That’s the conclusion.

Cats can be very loyal and know where there bread is buttered
Some cats wonder off but a well fed cat might stay very near to home

@shellys12 did you ever get that kitten you teased us about?

@green5 if your husband made that rule I would not get a cat either…I always kept my cats in the house.

@jukebox
I not seen it again yet I reckon it had a family nearby

no, it probably died…you said it was skinny…

my cat used to go on walks with me
they’re pretty good at finding their way home,
i always let mine out, and he comes back at night.

if you get them fixed, they tend not to stray too far.
i think it’s good to have a pet, you should consider it!

Cats can certainly be leash trained. Probably hard to do but possible.

Pixel Kitty is an indoor kitty, she does just fine. We take her outside on a long lead when the weather is nice and she has fun rolling in the grass.
