What gift do you want to have that you don’t have?

I wish I could sing…. And I wish I was a very good dancer. But I am terrible with both. What gift do wish to have?

In real life? Language. I wish I were a polyglot.

In a fantasy life where anything is possible? I’d like to be a shapeshifter, please. With this skill, I could fly, swim, run, be tiny and hide, be huge and imposing- anything goes!

I wish I could comprehend math better. I’ve studied my butt off but math skills elude me. The psychology statistics classes in undergrad hurt my GPA even though I did pass.

In the realm of realistic options: I want to be able to whistle

In the realm of any fantasy power: flight

In the realm of a present: all expenses paid vacation that is actually all expenses paid, with no options for upselling or “adding premium perks” so I can actually relax and not have to do spontaneous budget calculations.

I want the gift of reasoning. The ability and talent to realize all perspectives of all situations and opinions and beliefs and truth.

I want to be able to play the piano like Martha Argerich or Vladmir Horowitz. One or the other.

And without my crippling performance anxiety.

Maybe the gift of playing anything by ear, or the gift of speaking any language, or even really good social skills.

I would like the gift of being physically and mentally fit for the rest of my life until I die. No major injuries, illnesses or disorders or disabilities. Im not afraid to die. Im afraid of a really terrible quality of life for a long time.

Look up Spanish TPRS on YouTube

Thanks @Loke :+1:

Didn’t know what TPRS meant until I googled it— am lucky enough to speak and understand Spanish already, but this could definitely be helpful for learning other languages. Thanks again!

I wish I knew how to fight. Like, professionally.

Or that I was smarter in general.

Well, you know they are not going to let you do THAT, @Ninjastar.

I’ve always wished I had a better singing voice. I can sing stuff like indie/folk and punk just fine but when I try and sing soul music I think I sound like a drunk Van Morrison at my best.

I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my guitar playing over the years though.
