WHAT IS FREEDOM?
No one is handed freedom on a platter. You must make your own freedom.
If someone hands it to you, it is not freedom at all, but the alms of a
benefactor who will invariably ask a price of you in return

I feel like it’s true…
Ya thats how free countries work, they give you freedom and you pay them back by working and paying taxes
Common saying said a little differently.
I remember the “Nothing is free. Anyone saying otherwise is trying to sell you something.”
It’s facts.
I actually totally misquoted that.
It’s
“Life is pain. Anyone saying otherwise is trying to sell you something.”
Look at me trying to be smart.
Whatever.
Still true.
I know this is a touchy subject for everyone but as far as being a black guy I know not everyone sees black people as equal…like culturally and technologically …as far as Africa. Sometimes I feel like no one can ever truly give you respect it’s something natural. I don’t mean like individual African Americans but like as a race… maybe that’s horrible but I think about it sometimes
Please nobody take offense
I prefer your version. I might start using your version actually!
Thank gods.
I am the genius I thought I was.
Total validation.
I feel to be in a tough or difficult situation and deal that with grace is better than aiming for freedom…
I don’t like that suspiciousness. There is such a thing as helping one another out so both can feel freedom.
Tbh we did not experience racism where I grow up. In my neighbourhood we there were a lot of Colombian and Venezuelan people (my grandpa was Cuban), north african (which usually are not black) and black african kids.
We didn’t even think about race, let alone cultural differences. We went to school and grew and learned together.
It was until I started knowing about USA culture, society and history that I realized that race was that important for you.
Tbh man I had the same experience growing up! I think I’ve I encountered racism like 2 times in my life… But hearing other people stories and a lot of the stuff I started to see I. The culture as I got older I realized that there were certain dynamics that I hadn’t seen before. Maybe it’s just mostly in certain parts of the world but I do think it’s a real thing. I think we have to keep growing as a world but I think black folks need to continue to grow too. Best way to fight a lie(inequality) is with real life evidence. I know most people aren’t racist but being black you can feel the subtle dynamics of race.
Okay, getting real honest here. Once a russian prostitute rejected me bc she only saw “white” dudes. I took it extremely bad, it was very sad. But later on I realized that it wasn’t that big of a deal lol (gimme that colombian ass all day).
I tell you, beeing a chocolate papi in MedellĂn, Colombia, would be an extremely different experience for you.
I think it’s a matter of some countries only. And even then, racism demonstrates that the person is not well traveled, at least.
Lol … I hear that man! And yea… I guess in the big picture the life is bigger than racism!!! And was the prostitute fine? Lol
The russian? Not my type tbh, but 1. I wanted to try 2. I was horny and running out of options
Sounds like the master slave dialectic
Just looked this up!!! Gonna do some reading when I get some free time
Hegel is dense I’ve only watched documentaries that explain key concepts
That’s a great point.
I went down the rabbit hole with German philosophers questioning free will
Will never go down that path again!
