What do you think about geodon

Is there possibility to decrease negative symptoms with geodon?

I’ve taken Geodon with Seroquel for over ten years, and I never had trouble with negative symptoms from it. This drug does weaken me physically, and I hate that, but as for feeling bad, Geodon doesn’t do that to me. Geodon and Seroquel actually have given me a pretty good quality of life.

geodon is one of the best meds. it changed my life but gave me severe side effects. it works differently on other people.

I loved Geodon. It worked outrageously well for me until one day it stopped working. I miss it.

Geodon was never strong enough for me. I experienced a psychosis while on Geodon, which came on in 2001 and which went on for some years, while I remained on it. Geodon was lighter than other AP’s in its application, its effect and its side effects. I was seeing an insensitive psychiatrist at the time, and she never changed my medication. I had to wait until 2009 to get on a better medication with a different psychiatrist.

So you gived me a hope  I must try it. So it can decrease negative symptoms?

anybody else has to say something about geodon?

I would be grateful

I recently tried getting of olanzapine.
Was of it for one month and now back on it again for two weeks or so.
I only take approx 0,62 mg or so.
Just a tiny crumble that i cut from a 10 mg wafer.

I met with a new psychiatrist the other week whom wants me on Geodon.
He said he would send details to my Gp whom im meeting this day.

The psychiatrist said he cared about my weight gain from olanzapine.
some one asked me yesterday if im pregnant.

I think its cause my stomach sticks out more than my boobs.
Not sure if that was always the case.
Even when I was my normal size.

After reading about Geodon I am negative to taking it.
Im glad it works well for others but I dont reccon its for me.

I truly dont like capsules.

I do not want to take capsules.

Im not happy with capsules for me as an individual.
Although I can do fish oil capsules.

( I dont really eat sea food n fish)
Although would perhaps eat from some one elses plate depending on…

Possible side effects…
Also I have had pain in heart at a few occasions in my life.

I have decided I do not want to take Geodon.

I might instead try taking olanzapine every second day for a while .
It is such a small dose.

Then every third day etc and eventually try quitting again and maybe use sleep tablets as support.

As well as to me a good diet, be nice to self etc
Exercise I do is enough for me.
If more happens then by choice and in a fun way.

Previous times I quit zyprexa, olanzapine and golly knows … was no huge dramas.
I did it on me own.

Will be gentle with my self. I think.

I do not want to work full time in person.
Nor do I want to be at the gym six times a week.
I dont want hysterical training of my body but do want it to its normal weight which was usually between 50 - 55 kg but Im happy with a few extra kg also.
Other people are more concerned about my weight than I am.

I need lots of time to self I think.

And I notice when Im at home I tell my self or write down what Im to do such as drink a glass of water then put the washing on etc…

Maybe in future I would try geodon.

I might consider .
But rather not.

Hello there,

I want to know how did you find out it stopped working one day? I am worried because I am on it and afraid one day it will stop working giving me relapse. Thank you.

Geodon has been amazing for me. On my highest dose (160 mg) it made me sleep all the time it made me sleep all the time, but now that I’m back down to 60 mg I can do anything and everything. My only side effect is that I need to sleep for about ten hours a night instead of six.

It doesn’t fully eliminate my hallucinations, but it does make them less frightening in nature. It also takes away my paranoia.

I was once on 180mg of Geodon but now I’m at 160mg hoping to lower it to 140mg soon. I have the same effect as @cj9556 where I have to get about 10 or 11 hours of sleep to function during the day. It seemed to get rid of my negative symptoms a little by itself but I’ve had intensive therapy along with it to decrease my negative symptoms.
